The TQS Zoom Quilt for today is Forest Walk (67" x 86") by Pat Durbin, which was awarded 3rd Place at AQS Paducah 2010 and 3rd place at IQA Houston 2010. Pat made the quilt using her Mosaic Picture technique with turned edge appliqué and fused appliqué. It was inspired by a scene she encountered at Redwood Park in Arcata, CA where she grew up. The quilt now resides in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY. Pat's quilt was also featured in the December 2010 issue of The Quilt Life magazine.

Learn all about Pat and her quilts in Show 2103: Easy Mosaic Techniques and Adding Detail & Depth to Your Quilts.

Look for a couple of skunks, a bear, a deer, and a ladybug. Just fun little addiitions that don't really show unless you are looking closely. There are some "real" rocks too. Did you find them all?

Pat is as lovely a person as she is skilled in her art. I am lucky enough to be in a mini group with her here in Humboldt county and all of her works invite you to get closer and closer. She amazes!

I saw this quilt at the museum. This photo does not do it justice. It is stunning. Even my husband loved it!
