Once you've seen Show 802: Tips and Tricks for Triangles and Strips with Edyta Sitar, you'll want to start right away to create your own half-square triangle quilt. Head on over to the Forum and in the Scrap Bag look for Friendship Triangle Exchange. Post a message and see what other members might like to work out an exchange of half-square triangles. Your group might want to exchange 30's repros, or 1800 fabrics, or batiks. It will be up to you and your friends to decide.

Once you have some results, post them in Show & Tell, beginning 1/17/2011.

Many quilt shops have done this with amazing results. For example, The Granary in Sunnyvale, CA exchanged over 14,000 triangles. The shop created Cinnamon Sticks, which consisted of two pieces of 6 1/2" x 22" fabric (one light, one dark) rolled up with one sheet of triangle paper. The Cinnamon Sticks each made 28 half-square triangles at 2" finished. Customers brought in their finished 2" half-square triangles sorted into separate plastic bags by fabric. The Granary then took all the half-square triangles and redistributed them so that each customer received half-square triangles in a variety of fabrics.

Here's are some of the results from their proud customers as they show off their friendship triangle quilts.
