When Allie Aller began quilting in high school, she started with the basics, moved on to broderie perse, followed by landscapes, until she found her true passion with crazy quilting. Allie joined Alex and Ricky on the set to tape Show 1906: Crazy for Crazy Quilts and discovered it was a special day.

Alex and Ricky are joined by Barbara Yates Beasley, a lifelong lover of animals, who says, "when making an animal portrait quilt, it's all about capturing the expression of the animal and its soul." Barbara will show you her method for doing just this.
Alex also demos a "zig zag" binding without using bias-cut fabric.

Sherry Rogers Harrison makes quilts that look like they are appliquéd, but they are not. She and her "deceiving" quilts joined Alex and Ricky on the set.

Ricky starts the show with decorative stitches and free-motion yarn stitching. He and Alex are then joined by Jane LaFazio, who came to quilting with a graphic design degree and a passion for sketching and watercolor. Jane shows you how to add surface design to your fabric and how to machine needle felt wool roving, sheer fabric and ribbon to create a stunning fabric base which can be further embellished with beads, sequins and embroidery.

Alex and Ricky were joined on the set by Jill Finley who displays some of her quilting creations, which she deems traditional, but makes with fresh, clear colors, white backgrounds and accents of black. Jill loves to add appliqué vines, and she shows you a clever and easy method. You will learn how to “lick ‘n’ fix” a wrinkle, to appliqué a leaf point using the needle turn technique, and easy methods for making a border with inverted and convex curves. Jill then turns her attention to bias tape, showing how you make it and use it.
