Show and Tell - This is a diptych created by two friends. Sharon Wiley Hightower created the left half and Mary Pavlovich created the right half. The design is based on observation and photos of Show and Tell at our quilt guild, our most popular activity.

Spring Showers - Paper-pieced quilt with a 3 dimensional wing on the duck, ladybug and water drop buttons.

Fiesta - Winding Ways quilt started in April 2011 completed January 2014. Used Batiks and prints.

Deep Sea Mardi Gras - I designed and machine embroidered this quilt for my guild challenge, which was to use the Jane Sassaman red/yellow and purple/green gradated dot fabrics and beads. I appliqued/embroidered all the fish directly onto the unpieced background, using a number of Jane Sassaman fabrics that coordinated with the challenge fabrics. Then I sewed the border/binding to the back of the quilt and then machine appliqued to the front. Then I dressed up the fish for a party by applying over 1000 hot fix crystals and beads.

Lauren's Graduation quilt - This quilt is made from all different Aunt Gracie fabrics. It is hand appliqued with hand embroidered embellishment.

Two of us #2 - Made 2 quilts in different colorsfr each of my 2 oldest daughters

Anjou Pear - This quilt was hand painted in a great workshop with Anna Buzzalino at my local guild.

Sunny - This is a fun project from Susan Carlson's book, "Serendipity Quilts", using a glued fabric collage technique. It is a great way to play with value and colour and use up all those tiny left over scraps. The outside rays were foundation paper pieced and one has some Ricky Tims hand dyed fabric.

She - Inspired by Proverbs 3:13-19. The creative journey is a life-long adventure. What an incredible year-long journey it has been! I smiled, I cried, I learned more about myself. I'm grateful.

Crazy for Roses - Over 60 members of the Glendale Quilt Guild worked on this quilt. Center painted by Colleen Shier, frame designed by Alice Smith, organized by Frances Brannon

Orange Poppy Quilt - This quilt was based on a photo that I had taken of an orange poppy growing in my backyard. i wisely decided to eliminate the chain link fence behind it.

Jump - Cristy gave me a studio picture of her two children holding hands and jumping. I created an outline of the photo, then used the Ruth McDowell technique to divide it into sewable sections. I pieced it and a friend offered to let me use her long arm to quilt it so I did.

Pepper Dish - Started in a Judy Neimeyer Paper Piecing class in Idaho. This is one of the most difficult and satisfying quilts I have done to date.

From every battlefield and patriot grave... - The overall design is original using a purchased pattern from Rita Verocca for the center and one of the corners is also a purchased pattern by Pearl Periera. The others were drafted by me.

Dog Days -#2 - I sketched this dog on canvas and then glue basted lots small snippets of fabric. Everything was quilted with invisible thread. Finally I thread sketch for realism and texture.
