kegarth Deep Sea Mardi Gras - I designed and machine embroidered this quilt for my guild challenge, which was to use the Jane Sassaman red/yellow and purple/green gradated dot fabrics and beads. I appliqued/embroidered all the fish directly onto the unpieced background, using a number of Jane Sassaman fabrics that coordinated with the challenge fabrics. Then I sewed the border/binding to the back of the quilt and then machine appliqued to the front. Then I dressed up the fish for a party by applying over 1000 hot fix crystals and beads.
