grammy's garden
Name of Maker: Linda Rae Souza
grammy's garden - I love this "quilt as you go" method I used to make this modified grandmother's garden quilt. I cut the shapes, pressed and pinned into "flower" shapes, and top-stitched to hold together. Then I pinned on to the background, batting and backing. Then I used a decorative stitch to quilt around the motif. I joined the individual blocks with contrasting trim.
Stripes sorta squared
Name of Maker: Linda Rae Souza
Stripes sorta squared - I'd heard about strip piecing and decided to give it a try. My granddaughter's school was having a silent auction to raise funds for field trips and extras. I donated the quilt, my daughter bought it back and we gave it to the school secretary, Ms. Renee, as a thank you gift.
Jaci's flower
Name of Maker: Linda Rae Souza
Jaci's flower - My friend Jaci is a wonderful artist. She painted the flower, photographed it and used it to create greeting cards. She gave each of her friends one of these cards. I fell in love with the color and life in the photo and immediately knew I had to make a quilt like it.
