Finally Finished--a 20 year UFO - I started this quilt 20 years ago, after accumulating lots of leftover strips from all the Eleanor Burns quilts I had made. The pattern was demonstrated in one of my local guild meetings. Over the years, as I acquired more scraps, I would make another block until finally I had enough for a small quilt. I always thought the blocks were a bit wonky so I never finished the quilt. Last week I spent a few days learning to use a long arm and this was the quilt top I practiced on. Now that it's actually finished, I must say it's growing on me. What's even crazier is that I was able to find enough of the green fabric in my stash to make the binding! I hope this inspires you to finish one of the UFO's in your closet.

Dragonfly Party - First experiment with the new Bernina.

Amish Inspiration - A mix of Amish black and solids with added machine embroidery and stippling. I started hand quilting the triangles, then switched to machine quilting as my arthritis dictated.

Ducks Walking in the Rain - This was a fun quilt to make. Uses only 1 template for the entire quilt. The pattern is made by using the different colors of fabric.

Kaleidoscope - This was my second kaleidoscope quilt. This one I made to be 83" square. It just won Honorable mention in the 2009 Tennesse State Fair

Autumn Fantasy - I used the 4 Patch Posie Supreme pattern for this quilt, only I didn't use all the borders the pattern calls for. I love kaleidoscope type quilts, and enjoy seeing what I can create using one fabric.

Like Daughter, Like Mother - My daughter aged 8 produced a wonderfully spontaneous piece of artwork. My challenge 16 years later - to copy and capture her childlike creativity.Enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone!

Goldie - Inspired by the distinctive engine and star-like tank badge on B.S.A Gold Star motorbike.Uniting two passions in Celebration of Fifities race winner- the legendary 'Goldie'.In Memory of Colin.

Give us a Twizzle - Celebrating the 90th anniversary of R.A.F. Inspired by the flying colours of Red Arrows performing daring manoeuvres in the sky, over land and water - a 'twizzle' being one of them.

Butterfly on Flower - Raw edge applique design inspired by a photo I took many years ago and always wanted to do something with.

Logan's Baby Quilt - This quilt was made in anticipation of my niece's first baby, a boy. She was decorating the nursery in yellow and blue, so I chose fabrics in keeping with that theme. This was the first time I had used the Electric Quilt computer program; it was fun!

Stars Over Hawaii - I chose the fabrics for this quilt after looking at photos of a trip to Kaui and "The Big Island" in Hawaii. They represent the vivid flowers, clear waters, bright skies, the fiery new lava and the black ancient lava beds as well as the beautiful beaches. Thus the name is Stars Over Hawaii.

Out on a Limb - Original design and original technique for the see through leaf. There is a leaf shape cut out of the quilt and clear see though chiffon was inserted with thread work for the leaf veins to represent a decayed leaf. The center of the quilt uses a fabric discharge technique to represent the shadows of the leaves.
