Brunhilda
Name of Maker: Karilyn Lundt
Brunhilda - Fun project with embroidered wrinkles, a 3-D padded nose which is attached only at the base, button eyes and wart. I tacked a silk flower on the hat band and used some glow in the dark fabric. Her hair is embroidery floss that I curled by running it along the blade of scissors like curling ribbon.... sewn down like the center part on a wig.

Jeans and stars
Name of Maker: Karilyn
Jeans and stars - Denim fabric from years of my husband's work pants....the stars are reverse applique all by machine and then the edges are all snipped to allow it to "chenille". It has no batting but the back and front are denim and the inner part is the red cotton fabric. It ended up quite heavy. Each block was done in a quilt as you go style.

Sweet Dreams, Austin
Name of Maker: Resa Pickel
Sweet Dreams, Austin - This quilt was a "learning" quilt for me and represented my first attempt at both applique and free motion quilting. This started out as a baby quilt, but like all my projects, benefited greatly by "scope creep." If I had stopped with the log cabin blocks as I originally intended, the outer borders, the appliques, and the free motion quilting would have all been missing. I wanted to produce a colorful and interesting quilt that my grandson would enjoy throughout his childhood. I love scrappy quilts made with lots of fabrics. Austin discovered an added bonus, which I didn't even know about: the stars on the blue border, which is also the backing, glow in the dark!
Memories of Holly
Name of Maker: dollaremylife and Miranda
Memories of Holly - Using the applique of his picture in the middle of the quilt, then used the ohio star pattern from the front to surround Holly the appliquwe which included more picture on fabric of holly and miranda. Then I embroidered swuares around the ohio star blocks with a poem her sister wrote and an embrodiery of Holly and one representing family and dogs just fun. And of course Holly was written in Dog alpha
Kendra's Raffle Quilt
Name of Maker: Rachel Kitchen
Kendra's Raffle Quilt - My niece Kendra is 2 and she has leukemia. We are having a fund raiser for her April 21st and this is the quilt I made to be raffled off. It started off as just a small quilt just a little over a crib size. Well now it is larger then the size you would put on a twin size bed. I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I love everything about this quilt.
Snow Goose
Name of Maker: Heather Stewart
Snow Goose - This is a traditional quilt design going back to the late 1800's. I've seem many variations of this quilt in books and magazines so I took my scraps and started making the flying geese units. The quilt was made over the winter so I called it Snow Goose.......Goose from the Flying Geese blocks and Snow with a nod to all those Canadians who are "Snowbirds".

Mystery Quilt
Name of Maker: Helen
Mystery Quilt - Went on a Mystery Quilt at Avalon Homestead retreat in the beautiful Avon Valley Western Australia. For a confident beginner, at the end of the 3 days, the brain was fried. Still to put the borders on then quilt it but wanted to share as I was really challenged with the techniques used. Had a brilliant and talented tutor!
