Design Source - Description | This quilt was a "learning" quilt for me and represented my first attempt at both applique and free motion quilting. This started out as a baby quilt, but like all my projects, benefited greatly by "scope creep." If I had stopped with the log cabin blocks as I originally intended, the outer borders, the appliques, and the free motion quilting would have all been missing. I wanted to produce a colorful and interesting quilt that my grandson would enjoy throughout his childhood. I love scrappy quilts made with lots of fabrics. Austin discovered an added bonus, which I didn't even know about: the stars on the blue border, which is also the backing, glow in the dark! |
