vivaldi a quilt in four seasons
Name of Maker: Susan ACEVEDO
vivaldi a quilt in four seasons - i was listening to Vivaldi...when i was looking at our guilds workshop page and i just kept being drawn into this leaf shape during class - i began work on the Autumn leaf...and my brain went nuts and i decided to expand it to the 4 seasons so when i finished i had pieces of all my batiks all over the house...what a mess to resort and clean up the machine stitching(about 1/8" apart) was done while listening to Vivaldi...think about the fast string movement and i used many shades of variegated thread lots of fun

Geisha Garden - Panel and fabric purchased in November 2012 for Geisha Garden in the Benartex Antique/Teal color collection. Finished December 2012 for Christmas present to mother-in-law who loves anything Geisha or Asian art. She has it hanging in her bedroom as wall art. Had fun embellishing it with gold thread on the panel and framing the panel in pieced geometric squares.
The Learning Quilt
Name of Maker: Keith

The Learning Quilt - Part of my series of primarily one color quilts, the central medallion of The Learning Quilt was based on a friend's pewter necklace and the quilt grew from there. I learned more about: constructing a quilt with appliqué; silk, velveteen, and metallic coated fabrics; how to use hot fix crystals; the button stitch on my machine; and a little bit about how different threads look on different fabrics.

My Chemo Quilt
Name of Maker: Patricia McCullough
My Chemo Quilt - I started to make this quilt in April 2012 when I started chemo treatments. It was a struggle but I finished it. I realized how much work quilts are when many days I was unable to work on it. I'm happy it is finished but my chemo treatments are not. It felt wonderful wrapping up in it last night. I am happy with my accomplishment!
