Where did you think Easter eggs came from? - The chickens are hand appliqued in batiks using back basting. The border includes paper pieced letters from the Harry Potter alphabet on Fandom in Stitches and paper pieced Easter eggs from Angie's Bits n'Pieces. I finished the quilt so I could show it in the Newtown Quilters Guild quilt show in October, 2013.

Cyclones Lone Star - This is a lone star wall hanging made with Iowa State University Cyclones fabric. I fussy cutted the Cyclones, Cy, Iowa State, and I State from the fabric to insert in the design. The pattern came with interfacing design that was used to iron on and sew the 2 1/2"x5 1/2" strips of fabric on the interfacing pattern. I did all the sewing and stippling myself. It was bought at the Cardinal and Gold Gala so am not certain who purchased the wall hanging. Also put a hanging sleeve on the back.

Purple Mountain Majesties - Made as a wedding gift for my niece and her husband. She loves purple and gray and has contemporary design taste, so this was perfect. All fabrics are batiks.

Up North - I won the blocks in a guild lottery block drawing with a Northwoods theme. The setting was inspired by a book, Circle of Nine, by Janet Houts and Jean Ann Wright.

Fan Quilt

Peter and Alison - I made this for my son's wedding. It is a color block portrait using Maria Elkin's process.

Fire & Ice - I made this quilt in an online portrait quilt class. It is fused applique and free motion quilted, except for the wording in the border, which was done on an embroidery machine.

Keeping Secrets - Based on photograph I took of my daughter. Fused appliqué on felt.

Willow - Original design inspired by antique tapestries. Hand dyed fabric, silk broadcloth and silk dupioni fabrics were used.

A Taste of Paradise - Hand painted with Setacolor transparent paints.

Restoration - Created in response to a Mountain Art Quilters challenge, I attempted to blend the Art Noveau styles of Alphonse Mucha and Maxfield Parrish. It depicts an angel restoring her spirit by absorbing rays from heaven after helping troubled souls on earth. Approximately 180 fabric pieces were used to create the image.

You Go Girls - For our Hilton Head Island Celebration 350-30, the Camera Club and our Palmetto Quilt Guild teamed up to do a photo/quilt side-by-side exhibit. John Parsons' picture of the Marsh Tacky Cup Race on Hilton Head Island shows Molly ridden by Brittany Bowen flying, with all four feet off the ground, across the finish line - winning the 2011 Marsh Tacky Cup. In the photograph the spectators are blurred and it adds to the sense of speed. I printed the spectators onto fabric and used it in the quilt. The horse, rider and people are fused applique, the sky is paper pieced and the sand uses Karen Eckmeier's wave technique. All are densely quilted. I always loved the picture - now I enjoy seeing the quilt as part of our Celebration exhibit - Hilton Head Island; Flora, Fauna, Friends and Fun.

Paper Quilt Alphabet Letter - I love making alphabet letters for friends, family and customers. I try to tap into the personality of the person I am making it for - so each one is completely different. I love how you can change the colour and style of the papers to create a totally different look and add charms and embellishments to reflect a person's interests.

Colorful rhapsody - This's a 3 month BOM by Ricky. I just joined the "ring" I the middle.

Bugs Bunny - Colorful squares with Baby Bugs Bunny.

Ambergris - This is a 40 year old chair recently recovered in Quilted fabrics.
