Curved Log Cabin
Name of Maker: Eli Ciambrone
Curved Log Cabin - I took a class in Lockport, NY and completed this quilt based on the instructions from the teacher. What I originally brought to the quilt, was a bobbin embroidery technique in the center blocks and around one of the curves, for which I used a Bernina Embroidery CD--Linda Grabrowski? and Ricki Tims thread--Razzle Dazzle. The second picture shows the embroidery in the center. The quilting is a giant stipple with feathers

Pineapple Log Cabin
Name of Maker: Michele Groth
Pineapple Log Cabin - I started this quilt in a Freddy Moran class. At the time I desperately needed to focus outside of the trauma of life. It is one of my favorite quilts. I love the colors. I love the wonderful pineapples that Betty Gordon of BEA Quilts did on it. I have made two of these and have another three in progress. I also made a pineapple log cabin runner.
Frogs and Toads and Turtles, Oh My!
Name of Maker: Michele Groth
Frogs and Toads and Turtles, Oh My! - This quilt was one of those projects that suffered from creeping functionality! It started out to be a simple little wall hanging. Along the way I decided to make it a bed quilt for my son. I added some paper pieced squares I had made years ago. I made the quilt in four sections so that I could quilt in details. Putting the four sections together was difficult, but worked. Each square has the name of the frog, toad or turtle stitched on it. I free motioned the details on the critters as well as free motion quilting the borders. I taught myself to free motion dragonflies, frogs, and realistic turtle shells. I quilted a circle of four frogs in each corner by drawing them on water-soluble stabilizer, quilting, and then wetting down the corners.
Elena Skiing
Name of Maker: Michele Groth
Elena Skiing - This quilt is based on a pattern by Sue Olsen of Dog Gone Quilts. It was made as a my daughter who was enjoying her first season skiing in her pink ski gear. On the top and bottom borders, I free motion quilted miniature versions of the skier in the center.
Tree of Life
Name of Maker: Michele Groth
Tree of Life - I wanted to try embellishment techniques that I had been using to make journal pages. This quilt uses 10 different cliff fabrics. Some of the one I used were fabrics such as corduroy to give texture and dimension. For the foreground, I used three different cottons. The tree’s leaves are little pieces of fabrics, threads, and yarns. These were fused in place using Bo-Nash. The quilt top was covered with tulle to hold everything in place. Borders were added and everything was free motion quilted.
Handbags
Name of Maker: Michele Groth
Handbags - The handbags in this quilt are fun and easy to piece. It's fun to let go and make "wonky" blocks! Some of the bags have hidden pockets.
