Yesterday's Flowers
Name of Maker: unknown
Yesterday's Flowers - I have a real love for vintage quilt tops - I like to find them anywhere and quilt them on my longarm. Isn't it great finishing something and as you are working through it trying to imagine the person who put so much of themself into a quilt top - this quilt top is hand appliqued, machine pieced together. I quilted it partially traditional (crosshatch) and partially modern with feathers. It won a 3rd place ribbon at my local quilt show - Red River quilters. Judges saw a wavy border....

White on White - Curling Feathers
Name of Maker: Tanya Tingle
White on White - Curling Feathers - This is my first wholecloth and I made up the pattern. Hopefully, I came away with some good experience and wisdom to make the next one more exciting. White sateen, cut away trapunto, heavy quilting for the fill work..... With some advice from fellow Louisiana-quilter, Gayle Wallace, I changed the middle fill from a boring stipple to pebbles before entering it in our local quilt show. It won first place. My first, first place ribbon. I didn't quilt smiling for two days!!

Country Wedding Quilt
Name of Maker: Jon's mom Nora
Country Wedding Quilt - A cozy cabin appears in the center and there are concentric rings radiating out to the edges with appliqued animals such as a mother bear and cubs, deer, a flowing stream with a canoe and leaping trout, and naturally a bald eagle in flight. Various piecing patterns include, bears paw, logcabins and courthouse steps. Columbine vines and oak tree branches with acorns circle the outer border.
Circle of Bluhms
Name of Maker: Tanya Tingle
Circle of Bluhms - This wholecloth method has been taught by Irena, Bluhm of Little Elm, Texas. I was a member of her first class of students in 2006. At the end of the class, she gave us this original pattern and gave us permission to use it, change it up, but keep in touch. I changed it only slight - the center. First step is to stitch the design in green thread, then heavy fill-in quilting is completed in white. After the quilt has been washed, blocked, steamed and bound, it is embellished with color and a fabric medium to seal the color. It has won a second place at the Professional Long Arm Guild Quilt Show in 2006 (guild founded by Linda V. Taylor) and a first place at my local quilt show - Red River Quilters, Shreveport, LA.
