Graycee Glynn's Froggie Fun - I hadn't given a thought to the pattern design or lack there of. I used flannells for the solid colors and the frog fabric for the triangles. I loved making this quilt for this little girl. She is the first grandDAUGHTER for the grandparents that commissioned me to make the quilt. The hardest part of this quilt was knowing that it belonged to a new baby girl and her parents HATE the color pink. I did manage to sneak some pink in the desgin though!
Molly's Art Quilt - My 3-yr-old and I put this quilt together...she did all the designing...chose the fabric, beads, flowers, tulle, and placed them all. Then, I did all the actual sewing. Here is what we came up with!
Erin's Wedding - I was commissioned to make a quilt for a Wedding Anniversary and was given their original theme of their wedding which was shells and beach and their pic and wedding announcement.
Hydrangea - Another quilt started in one of Yang Pring's classes at Pennant Hills. The black berries were all hand appliqued on which took longer than actually stitching the top. The block is possibly a three dimensional Ohio Star. Looks great and gets a lot of comments
First Quilt - First ever quilt. Quilt in a day class at Craft Depot( HobbySew) in Pennant Hills in Sydney. Yan Pring taught this class. She is a wonderfully inspirational teacher and thanks to her I have made over 40 quilts now.She has an amazing eye for colour.
Comet Ride for Lucia - A quilt in celebration of my first grandchild's birth. "Space" was the theme requested by my eldest son, the daddy! An original design.
Americana Blues - The wall hanging was designed by me using the Star Block from Quiltmaker 83'. After learning how to paper piece the star block I decided to make a wall hanging but didn't have a pattern to go by so I designed the rest of the quilt around the star blocks.
Welsh Wonder - I have been captivated by Welsh quilts since seeing an aritcle about Marjorie Horton. After seeing her on Simply Quilts I knew a Welsh wholecloth quilt was in my future. I collected any information I could on Wholecloth quilting and quilting traditions in Britain. I put together a slide show and lecture for my local guild on quilting history in Great Britain. I made this quilt for that lecture. The quilt is made out of White Cotten Sateen. I machine quilted it on my Bernina QE150. This was my first attempt at machine quilting a large quilt. The quilt is 80"x80". It is hard for a picture to do a wholecloth any justice but I hope you can pick out some of the design.
Pina Colorada - When I got married 10 years ago, my Bee gave me a shower - and what else do quilting friends give you except fabric? I counted 121 different fabrics. I had to add some lights, of course, but made this Pineapple variation and laid it out like Shelly Burge did.
What would I do without you? - I made this quilt for my best friend of 30 years. I did all of the hand work and printed out pictures of us through the years. I have yet to quilt it because I am so afraid that I will ruin it. I need to get over and quilt because I know she wants it.
Crazy Nine Patch - This black & white with a touch of red quilt was made as a wedding gift for a relative. It was fun to make. The quilting design is circles, large & small, because most of the fabrics reminded me of water bubbles. It is engraved with the name of the birde & groom along with the wedding date.
