Design Source - Description | I have been captivated by Welsh quilts since seeing an aritcle about Marjorie Horton. After seeing her on Simply Quilts I knew a Welsh wholecloth quilt was in my future. I collected any information I could on Wholecloth quilting and quilting traditions in Britain. I put together a slide show and lecture for my local guild on quilting history in Great Britain. I made this quilt for that lecture. The quilt is made out of White Cotten Sateen. I machine quilted it on my Bernina QE150. This was my first attempt at machine quilting a large quilt. The quilt is 80"x80". It is hard for a picture to do a wholecloth any justice but I hope you can pick out some of the design. |
