Stromboli II - After travelling to Stromboli, Italy with 8 of my cousins to see our grandparents homeland, I made this quilt from a photo transfer of the Island. I cut the photo transfer in pieces then wove it back together. It was a gift to one of my cousins I travelled with.

James had seen a quilit I made with these colors and loved it, so I used the left over pieces to make this quilt for him after he was hospitalized. It is treasured by his wife Jackie now.

Sunflower

Sunflower - Fabrics for sunflower and leaves were handpainted by the quiltmaker in Phil Beaver's class in 2002, and his petal and leaf motifs were used in the quiltmaker's own adaptation. Pieces were raw edged appliqued by machine and quilting in the background mimic the flora of the black on black fabric. My first sunflower was appliqued on a hobo bag finished in 2005.

Girls of Summer - After I bought the Loralie panel I realized that the squares were not all the same size. I used selected ones that were close in size and then added the angled borders to achieve evenly sized blocks. I remembered learning how to do this from a talk that Sharyn Craig gave to our quilt guild several years ago.
