Lady & Marbles
Name of Maker: Terry Soll
Lady & Marbles - One panel of this Asian lady fabric was cut for a person and they decided they wanted 2 panels instead of one. It sat on the cutting table for 4 days and finally I took it home and developed a quilt that I liked using the Benartex Oppulence circles and the Lady. It was based off the 9 Patch Pizazz book with the blocks calculated to be 16 patch to match up with the quarter circle oppulence.
American Beauty
Name of Maker: Terry Soll
American Beauty - This is one of our beginner quilt classes at Creative Sewing Center. It is a 6 month quilt. This quilt is for my son & daughter in law who met in Korea during their respective Army assignments. It will be quilted on a Handiquilter 16 next month. I combined Marcus Brothers and Moda fabric to create a truely gorgeous quilt.
Cats, Fish-bones, and Mice
Name of Maker: Barb Bevell
Cats, Fish-bones, and Mice - This was a class I took years ago and never finished. I decided to finish it, only to find out that I didn't have enough main fabric (blue). So, I found a companion fabric in black, added some hand-dyed fabric to coordinate, then made enough blocks to finish it. Rather than a rectangular quilt, I made it 6-sided, to reflect the basic block. Since the fabric has cats, fish-bones, and mice in it, I had my quilter quilt fish-bones and mice into the borders. As you can tell, my cat loves it.
Pirates of the Caribean
Name of Maker: Terry Soll
Pirates of the Caribean - This is a tribute to all those large prints in collection that don't work with any pattern. There are 5 large places to put focus fabrics. I love the pirate movies from my youth when we watched tv downstairs after everyone went to bed. How we could hardly wake up in the morning to go to school.
Adventures With Terry
Name of Maker: Terry Soll
Adventures With Terry - This is a $5.00 Quilt class taught to 80 people who chose their own focus fabric. We used Kona Bay Asian fabrics. The first block sets the tone of the star medallion. Every block after that is a compass or star. The quilters came once a month to see the demo, pick up their new block and then the kit to complete the needed blocks for the round. We are teaching the same quilt again in 2008.
