Carl Wishes He'd Been in Hawaii Instead
Name of Maker: Patti
Carl Wishes He'd Been in Hawaii Instead - Carl, my seat partner at work at the time accidently burned his house down. To make matters worse he was home because he got bumped off a flight to Hawaii (we work for an airline reservation center). He looked like a lost little boy telling the story to folks. So we organized an auction/book/bake sale to help out. This wallhanging was auctioned off in the sale. Another quilt started in a Paula Golden class.
round robin
Name of Maker: Sue/Patti/passed on to Carla next
round robin - My first participation in a round robin. Sue did the basket in the middle and I did this first border. It was then passed on 2 more times. The guild hadn't done a round robin before so when they saw the 4 tops that came out so well it generated alot of excitement to do more of them. I will post my top when I get the pic developed some day!
Let's Talk Some Trash
Name of Maker: Patti
Let's Talk Some Trash - As I was losing my mobility, the lady who lived in the condo above me who herself walked with great difficulty, decided I needed help and beat me every week to take my trash out. She was retired from cleaning her church for years. I wanted to do something in thanks so I made this quilt started in a Paula Golden class for Mildred, my trash angel.
Nastia's Welcome to America
Name of Maker: Patti
Nastia's Welcome to America - My friends adopted Nastia and her sister from Russia and mom asked me to make a quilt. They had to wait 2 years however for me to get it in gear and finish it. You can't see it but Nastia loves cats and the quilting is a long string of kitties with tails locked.
Patti's Precisely Pieced Pineapple
Name of Maker: Patti
Patti's Precisely Pieced Pineapple - I wish I had a better picture of this quilt. It's one of my favorites and this picture does not do justice. This was raffled off to help the youth group raise funds for a mission trip. I had alot of fun because many people wanted to win it.

I saw this pattern in a book in different colors and I Know this was the One.. She likes Purples and Greens. My friend has a long arm machine and offered to let me try it. Ohh what fun I had, This was my first and hopefully not last experience with a long arm machine..
My First Quilt 1975
Name of Maker: Lorna
My First Quilt 1975 - My Grandmother quilted and that inspired me to get started. I took a quilt class but only attended the first few weeks before I joined the army. This came with me and is partly hand pieced and partly machine pieced once I bought a machine. It is hand quilted. I have pictures of laying the blocks out on the open dormitory floor to get them lined up. Later I have another picture of my dorm room with a quilt frame that practically filled the whole room! Some of the fabrics are chicken feed sacks from my grandmother. The quilt has been well used by both my daughters.
