Lorna1021 My First Quilt 1975 - My Grandmother quilted and that inspired me to get started. I took a quilt class but only attended the first few weeks before I joined the army. This came with me and is partly hand pieced and partly machine pieced once I bought a machine. It is hand quilted. I have pictures of laying the blocks out on the open dormitory floor to get them lined up. Later I have another picture of my dorm room with a quilt frame that practically filled the whole room! Some of the fabrics are chicken feed sacks from my grandmother. The quilt has been well used by both my daughters.
