Name of Maker: Regena Young, School Counselor
Multicultural and Character Education Quilt - Students (K-4), staff, principals, & custodians traced their hands or drew hearts on fusible web.
Teachers, aides, and stay at home mothers helped to cut out all the appliques once they were fused onto the felt. The appliques were first fused and then sewn to each orange quilt block. 4th grade students made the patterns for the center medallion by tracing their arms and drawing a globe. All sewing and quilting was completed by the school counselor. The quilt hangs in the school cafeteria to remind students daily of the principles of character education and multiculturalism.
