Little Boy Blue
Name of Maker: Kim McCloskey
Little Boy Blue - This was a commissioned quilt. The owner wanted a quilt based on the poem "Little Boy Blue" by Eugene Field. The challenge for me was to learn how to paint a face on fabric. I used a technique taught by Lura Schwarz Smith in her Workshop-To-Go DVD "Faces in Fabric."
A Celebration of Sophia
Name of Maker: Kim McCloskey
A Celebration of Sophia - This quilt was made for my sister to commemorate the birth of her fourth child, Sophia. I did a hand drawing, had it enlarged and then did a fusible applique out of batiks. The background is embellished with Swarovski crystals. This was my first attempt at creating an art quilt from my own sketch.

Color Frusturation
Name of Maker: Renees Country Quilts
Color Frusturation - This Quilt was made as a replica of a Beautiful Design, I saw made by the Amish. I designed the Colors, and the color placement. This quilt needs a good home and is for sale for $200.00. I made this quilt from start to finish, and it is hand quilted. The Amish Charges $ 900.00 for their quilt, and it is well worth it due to the elaborate hand quilting they do. I would love to be able to quilt like that.
Seeing Spots
Name of Maker: Keith Gautreaux
Seeing Spots - This was all leftovers from another Material Girls Dot Challenge... Seems like those ladies just love giving me another project! The original blocks that these remaining circles were cut from have all been sewn, sliced, and sent to Ukiah, California to be swapped with the other Material Girls at their coast retreat! Wish I was there!
To be remebered
Name of Maker: Keith Gautreaux
To be remebered - Made this with a picture taken in Bannack, Montana and printed on fabric that was then dunked in a handy cup of cold coffee, rinsed, splatered with Tsukeneko ink and pretty much trashed. The words were also printed on fabric and then burned around the edges. Quilted with Crazy stitches and have sewn on beads and weathered wood.
Irises
Name of Maker: Keith Gautreaux
Irises - This was made as part of the WAQs (Whimsical Art Quilters) of Ukiah, California class. We learned to play with and have fun with Tsukeneko inks. Flower was traced on fabric from book and then I colored the fabric sky blue, the irises with shades of purple and then thread painted some highlights in. (Yeah, I know there was probably an easier way to go about it!)
Do You Dream in Color?
Name of Maker: Keith Gautreaux
Do You Dream in Color? - I have this little problem with throwing anything away... The Material Girls had an instructor come up to give us a class on the BSR foot for our 440s and this was my practice piece. I got home and couldn't stop so I continued to practice quilting with a way of drawing when I was a child. I have always wanted to see what crayons on fabric would do so I colored the whole thing with my trusty box of 64 and heat set it with my applique pressing sheet. I loved it so much and titled it because it makes me think of a dream... Okay, maybe a psychedelic dream.
My One and Only Windmill Log Cabin
Name of Maker: JackieOL
My One and Only Windmill Log Cabin - This is a workshop project from a class I took with Bonnie Browning. The paper piecing put me to the test but I finished it in the end. Took me 12 blocks before I made one without having to rip something out! It's going in my office at school, both grandsons want it and I am not making another! You may have seen this pattern on a quilt at the opening of the Simply Quilts program that Alex had on HGTV. Always loved it!
Jubilation
Name of Maker: Ann W. Atkinson
Jubilation - Started as a wall hanging, Plain and Fancy, consisting of Card Trick and Illinois blocks but then it grew into a full size quilt with center surrounded by Card Trick and plain border.
Orange you glad I like Orange
Name of Maker: Unknown
Orange you glad I like Orange - I don't remember where or when I aquired this quilt top. I've had it in a box for a long time. I just finished building a new sewing-work table and put my sewing room together. As I was arranging everything in my sewing room I came across this quilt top and thought I'd share it with TQS.

Enchanted Valley I - Designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Young Harris College Class of 1952's graduation. Presented to the Alumni Foundation at Homecoming 2002 in the enchanted valley nestled in the shadow of Double Knob mountain.
Leftovers Again?
Name of Maker: Renee Graham
Leftovers Again? - I had a ton of leftover fabric from a previous quilt that was in fall colors with tumbling leaves. I started making half squares, then used the color wheel to make the design work. There is a close up of the border quilting in my profile page.
