Quilted Chanukah Post Card - Catching up with posting! Hope it's OK to put up PC's because I love doing these to hone decorative quilting skills. For the 07 Festival of Lights, I zeroed in on the flame and digitized an applique design with Layout and Editing in PE Design 6. The blue part of the flame has the Hebrew letters that are found on the dreydel, which since the Diaspora stand for "A great miracle happened there," meaning in Israel. However, dreydels in Israel say "A great miracle happened here," and because I sent this card to a friend in Israel, I substituted the pey (stands for PO which means "here") for the shim (stands for SHAM) which means "there." I spent about 20 hours creating the design and about 1 1/2 hrs to make each card on my Baby Lock Ellageo3.

My Funny Flower - This was a one day class I took this summer to learn curved, pieced applique on a foundation.

Noah's Ark - I used a purchased panel with two goals in mind: to practice free motion quilting and to make a quilt to welcome a new family member.

Welcome Ethan Alexander - I planned and designed this baby quilt in EQ6 after seeing a picture in a magazine. I pieced and quilted it on my Bernina Aurora 440QE by stitching in the ditch with Superior Threads "Highlights."

Maishie Yisroel - Designed with EQ6 (with the addition of an appliqued border), this was pieced, appliqued, and quilted on my Bernina Aurora 440QE. Features mini 9-patches at the foot of Mt. Sinai, interspersed with dimensional flowers (Rebeca Wat), self-printed Western Wall fabric with 12 tribes of Israel, Red Sea made of shaggy and hairy fabric that can be moved and "played with," machine embroidery done with Baby Lock Ellageo3 using installed fonts of word processor. This quilt is a tribute to a great-nephew's namesakes while also honoring his family in the center of the quilt. Quilted with Superior Threads "Highlights."

Scrap Quilt - 3,244 one inch squares of scrap fabrics.

Bad Hare Day - The rabbit on the quilt is running away with one of the blocks. That block is lose on the quilt top.

Key West Bird Houses - This quilt was so much fun to make.

Maple Leaf - My husband fell in love with batiks and handddyes at the fabric store. I found this pattern on the internet and he saw it over my shoulder and went crazy. He picked out all the fabrics for it. My friend from guild works for a shop as a longarmer and she specially quilted it.

Kenny's Cars and Trucks - I took two small quilt patterns and adapted parts of them into a full size quilt for my grandson. I pulled the border from another book "More Rotary Cut Quilts from Pam Bono Designs". My grandson since babyhood has loved anything with a motor.

Prairie Waves - I made this quilt in a class offered at The Quilting Bee-our local quilt store. I have always felt that the prairie fields of grass and grain looked like the movement of the ocean thus this quilt became Prairie Waves.

True Lovers Tie the Knot - The bride believes in symbolism. The groom is Celtic. This suited them both.

Service Remembered - Wall hanging made for military reunion depicting military objects & states where the unit served as well as city where they now have a reunion every 2 years. Displayed in meeting room during the reunions.

David's Quilt - Bachelor son with 2 dogs needed a sturdy quilt. Made of odds & ends pieced into 12 inch rows. Green is his favorite color. Bachelors need all the help they can get! This is the son who built my fold down cutting table, murphy bed and bookcases in my sewing room.

Right on Target - Printed yardage of wild animals used as center of block for grandson who loves to hunt. Quilted circles around animals to resemble target area.

Sunshine and Shadow - While living in Missoula, Montana I attended a course on Amish Quilts. This was one of the lessons. The dining area was the location of my design wall.
