The Sentinal
Name of Maker: quiltin33gal
The Sentinal - My challenge was to create a realistic fire using fabrics. Lots of thread painting. This includes my first limited use of dryer lint...(the details in the moon)
Up Close and Personal - Zebra
Name of Maker: quiltin33gal
Up Close and Personal - Zebra - I took a photo of a zebra and cropped it, created a design and blew it up. This is a very dramatic piece. I have patterns available for sale.
The Cabin
Name of Maker: quiltin33gal
The Cabin - This was a gift. The cabin is one that we used to live in. I used many different fabrics to create it including a sheer fabric for the icicles. The background trees are from the Siberian Tiger line. The bear was added from the Road to California print because Luke saw one walk by the back porch when he was sitting there one evening.
Sunset at the Lake
Name of Maker: quiltin33gal
Sunset at the Lake - My challenge for this quilt was to completely make the sky up using only dryer lint! I built the canoe out of 3 different fabrics.
Catchin the Wave
Name of Maker: quiltin33gal
Catchin the Wave - THis quilt is an attempt to capture an ocean wave with the light shining through it. It is completely built using non-traditional fabrics such as tulle, and organzas. The surfer is built using fabrics in my stash.
Sweet Magnolias
Name of Maker: Jan Potter
Sweet Magnolias - My Mother had saved the front of a greeting card which I found in her dresser after she died. I was planning to make some flower quilts and decided this would make a good one. I scanned the card and then made my own pattern. There is a little thread embellishment on it.
Purple Iris
Name of Maker: Jan Potter
Purple Iris - Irises are my favorite flower and they were everywhere when I was in Paducah last year. I took several pictures and then cropped and edited this single iris to use for my pattern. I tried some new techniques such as satin stitched edges instead of raw edge applique. I also used a double piping on the bound edges. It has a lot of thread embellishment.
Anhinga on Sanibel
Name of Maker: Carol DeCesare
Anhinga on Sanibel - A female anhinga drying herself in the sunlight. Quilt based on picture I took while riding my bike on Sanibel Island. Mixed media art quilt.

Nude with Rope
Name of Maker: Ferret
Nude with Rope - I love working with the human form, and this pose struck me as wonderfully elegant.
Sunflowers #2
Name of Maker: Stefanka
Sunflowers #2 - This is my second Sunflower quilt. I made it for a young couple as a wedding present. I hope that it will bring them sunshine everyday.

Name of Maker: Liz Neil
Christmas Pinwheels - This was made for our parish's 2008 silent auction.
Name of Maker: Liz Neil
"King" Joe's Graduation Quilt - Graduation gift for my godson & nephew, Joe. It started out as a twin, but for ease of cutting I enlarged the individual square size by 1/2", and it turned out almost the size of a king!
Bridget's Windows
Name of Maker: Liz Neil
Bridget's Windows - Bridget likes red, green & blue, and I like batiks, so when I found a batik with those colors and images of flamingos wading, I created a faux window block with the flamingos in the windows.
Pearls From Grandma-detail
Name of Maker: Tammy Finkler
Pearls From Grandma-detail - This is a detail shot of the quilting on Pearls From Grandma. (Yes, it took forever to quilt. ;-) )
