Purple Iris

Purple Iris - Irises are my favorite flower and they were everywhere when I was in Paducah last year. I took several pictures and then cropped and edited this single iris to use for my pattern. I tried some new techniques such as satin stitched edges instead of raw edge applique. I also used a double piping on the bound edges. It has a lot of thread embellishment.
