My first quilt
Name of Maker: JudiB
My first quilt - I took a Quilt in a Day course and made the top 20 years ago. I waited to learn to hand quilt and quilted it in 2008. Alex's lessons helped me finish it.
Blowing in the Wind
Name of Maker: Rejeanne
Blowing in the Wind - Made at a guild workshop with the intention of giving it to the Canadian Quilters' Association for the 2010 festival to be held in April in Calgary. The technique is positive/negotive. The design was created by Nancy Sachro. CQA will use it as a table topper and give it away to some lucky winner.
Madison's Garden
Name of Maker: Michelle Curtis
Madison's Garden - I made this quilt for my daughter Madison (who was 4 years old at the time). She picked the fabric collection from a magazine and I ordered them with no pattern in mind. I went with something easy since I was still new to quilting. Pieced by machine and quilted in the ditch. My daughter calls this her magic quilt because I told her that it protects her from bad dreams.
Spring Baskets
Name of Maker: NanaPie
Spring Baskets - I saw this in The Olde Green Cupboard in Jacksonville, Fl several years ago. I combined 30's fabrics with Robyn Pandolph's Holly Go Lightly fabric. It's now ready to sandwich and then hand quilt.
Cathedral Variation
Name of Maker: NanaPie
Cathedral Variation - The original quilt this was based on was made by a fellow quilter's husband's aunt, discovered in her belongings after she passed away. There was no pattern that she could find after doing much research. She finally was able to figure it out herself and taught a few classes. As the traditional Cathedral Window is done, this is completely hand sewn blocks that are then hand sewn together. I used primarily 30's fabrics, but used others as well, and muslin. It's great to use up scraps. You can make it as large or small as you want. The blocks are small enough that they're easily taken to appointments or wherever you know you're going to have a wait time. I also love it because when I'm between completing quilting large quilts I still have handwork I can do while 'listening" to TV.
Stary Nights
Name of Maker: Rejeanne Santoro
Stary Nights - Mystery Quilt class at the 2008 Chicago Quilt Festival with Charlotte Anglotti. The fabric was laser cut by John Flynn.

The First Twelve
Name of Maker: djane
The First Twelve - This was the first BOM I had participated in. Some of the blocks were a challenge especially the one with the set-in square in the centre. I learned a lot of new things and improved my skills by participating in the BOM at my local quilt store. The blocks were chosen by my local quilt store but I chose the final layout as I did not want to do the quilt with a medallion that the quilt store used.
Danielle's Quilt
Name of Maker: Cindy Rodriguez
Danielle's Quilt - I made this baby quilt for my great niece who was born on Christmas Eve 2009. The pineapple blocks are paper pieced.
Longhorns
Name of Maker: Susan Keyes
Longhorns - I used the Becky's Star pattern to make two quilts. This one was a gift for my partner's grandparents, who happen to be rabid University of Texas Longhorn fans. My partner is an Aggie, so anyone from Texas can imagine how she had to grit her teeth when I brought all that burnt orange fabric home! The quilting is all straight stitch (grid pattern) on this one. I was in in a hurry to get it done in time for Christmas.
Butterflies II
Name of Maker: Susan Keyes
Butterflies II - My first quilt! I used patterns from Barbara Eikmeier's excellent quilt book for kids for my first three quilts. I pieced the entire quilt and then quilted in the ditch entirely on my trusty mechanical Brother. I ran into trouble with the stippling and took advantage of a sale to purchase my 440 QE. By then I felt the need for a needle down feature if nothing else!
The Black Fern
Name of Maker: LuAnn Kessi
The Black Fern - Jello Printed Fern on Muslin Fabric with acrylic paints on gelatin pad.
Michael's Quilt
Name of Maker: Luvspaper
Michael's Quilt - Machine Pieced and Quilted using fat quarters; Quilted using Leafs in Circle with stippling in between...and then framed with a stippling frame.
