Hot Tennessee Nights
Name of Maker: Sandy Weber
Hot Tennessee Nights - Each of my! friends in my small quilting group made a Tennesee Waltz quilt. We sharted it on a retreat (just us girls) to Branson, MO. Of course, they are all quite different, but equally beautiful! I originally made this for my stepdaughter, but ended up keeping it for now.....a funny story! I quilted it on the long arm during my "flame" period. Thus the name, "Hot Tennesee Nights." Although this is a traditional pattern, I classified it as contemporary due to the fabrics and quilting.
Welcome Home Jeremy
Name of Maker: Many wonderful friends and family
Welcome Home Jeremy - Wonderful sewing friends surprised me with several completed blocks and quilt pattern (thanks kmouse) for a quilt to be completed to Welcome Home my son after completing his duty in Iraq. My sister, niece & I made additional blocks using many of my mom's fabrics (mom had passed away leaving a wonderful fabric stash)- I then had family and friends sign blocks with their names and sentiments welcoming Jeremy back home. I presented this quilt (along with 2 blocks made into pillows) to Jeremy upon his return to Springfield after 14 months away at a surprise pool party. He was thrilled, surprised and enjoyed reading the sentiments expressed knowing the love of those who contributed to the quilt. And Grandma was surely looking down from above at a new quilt created from part of her stash.
Red/White Quilt
Name of Maker: Rena Messenger & Hollis Jack (my now deceased mom
Red/White Quilt - LQS had Buck-a-Block in 2005. Mom & I made blocks each month. She unexpectedly passed away 10-2005. I showcased her blocks in center of quilt, added my monthly blocks and made additional ones to fit into a King Size quilt I designed using Bernina Quilter software. I had Quiltin' Bill of Galena, Mo. quilt it since Mom always wanted to have him long-arm quilt one of hers (sadly she never got one to him before she passed away). I have a quilt made by my great-grandmother which she hand pieced/hand quilted Red/White quilt in 1931, and will now have this "modern, machine made" quilt that Mom & I did together. Special memories.

American Flag
Name of Maker: Karen Mason

American Flag - I was spending the summer in Redstone, Colorado and wanted to create a flag to hang outside for the 4th of July. I remembered seeing a flag in a quilt shop and proceeded to create what I remembered. I used Jellyrolls and kept adding rows until it looked right. I later saw my inspiration quilt and the pieces were triangles not rectangles. It was inspired by another design, but became my own.
