Dream flowers - I tried needle turn applique for the first time and it was a trial piece. I was pleased with how it turned out. Went ahead and machine quilted for the first time the centre( in the ditch also) and did my best. After seeing Sharon Pedersons technique of adding on borders to an already quilted piece i did just that. I also added piping to it. I hand quilted the border. Now it is a completed wall hanging.
Ariel Quilt for Sara - Sara loves Ariel, so I decided to make a quick throw-size quilt for her birthday. I got the pattern from Quilts for Kids (thanks!), and the beautiful fabrics are from equilter (thanks!).
Kidd's Kaleidoscope - Wow what fun! Thsi quilt was a joy to make for my brother for his birthday! Machine pieced and free motion quilted on Babylock quilters choice home machine. Approx. 70" square and for fun I used some YLI blacklight thread in neon green! He loved it!!
English Checkerboard - Always loved the Irish Chain pattern. Sharon Yenter takes it up a notch in the book Floral Bouquet Quilts from In the Beginning. Very easy to make. Made in 2010
2009 The Quilt Show Sue Garman BOM - Finished in the beginning of 2010. Quilted with hearts, butterflies and feathers. Learned so much from making this quilt. Thank you Sue and TQS.
Musical improv with an African beat - This is a South Africa improv quilt. The rules and freedoms to create this quilt are similar to the rules and freedoms of improvising with music. I use this quilt to visually demonstrate to my piano students what improv is all about.
Carleen's Gem - I always wanted to do a kalidescope quilt, but thought it would be too complicated. Went to Asheville quilt seminar and "Viola!". Thanks Ricky!
