Babette's Christmas Gift
Name of Maker: Jeanie Crosthwait
Babette's Christmas Gift - I did the feathered star block as a personal challenge, then just started adding borders until it was big enough! I used the feathered star pattern in Quilts Galore! by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes.
Patriotic Stars
Name of Maker: jarwight
Patriotic Stars - This quilt was made as part of the July challenge of my guild. It won first place.
We are Connected
Name of Maker: Barb Gabriel
We are Connected - I was commissioned by the City of Poulsbo, Washington to create a gift from the city to give to the Suquamish Tribe to commemorate the opening of their new museum. The quilt shows the connection between Poulsbo's Nordic heritage and the Suquamish Indian Tribe culture.
Shayna's Stars
Name of Maker: Lmorens
Shayna's Stars - My daughter and I picked the pattern and fabric for this when she started kindergarten. It got set aside to work on school projects, costumes, etc. I decided to finish it before she finished high school, and we did! It was quilted by Pat Sudano.
Brown Bear
Name of Maker: Lmorens
Brown Bear - I found these fabrics and then designed the block myself. My inspiration was the Artist/fabric designer Eric Carle. He was a favorite of my daughters when they were young.
Celebration
Name of Maker: Colleen
Celebration - I made this as a baby quilt for my niece's boy, born in June, 2012. It isn't exactly as designed by Judy Martin - I left off a partial border of the bright squares. It was only on two sides, so would have made the quilt asymmetrical (in my opinion) and it was already really big for a baby quilt! In any event, I loved how it turned out, as did my niece. I made a second one for another young mom that I know.
Howzat!
Name of Maker: Robyn Bennett
Howzat! - Made from Gyleen Fitzgerald's book, and using her ruler after seeing her episode on TQS. I just LOVED making these blocks and may break my self imposed rule of not making the same quilt twice...I have so many scraps to use up!
Benni Harper's Oriental Adventure
Name of Maker: Barbara
Benni Harper's Oriental Adventure - Adapted Block of the Month for quilt made prior to 2011 Quilt Camp at Sea Cruise where Earlene Fowler was the guest writer.

Pink Admiral
Name of Maker: Janet Hartje
Pink Admiral - This was created for the Minnesota Quilter's challenge "What's Black and White and Read All Over?" We were given two different black and white fabrics and nestled inside was a fabric marker. We could add the color of the marker to our quilt and had to use the marker somewhere on our quilt top. I immediately thought of a zentangle for the black and white fabrics. I wanted to try a cut out as I have never done that on a quilt. I had fun trying to figure out how to do this and learned a lot in the process.
Christmas Wonder
Name of Maker: Joyce Triezenbergj
Christmas Wonder - This quilt is based on a technique described in the book, "One Block Wonder Encore" by Joy Pelzmann and Maxine Rosenthal. I had the pleasure of taking a workshop with Maxine in Fort Wayne, IN, in early October 2009. This is my Christmas version using three colorways of the same fabric from Westminster called “Poinsettia & Holly Mix.” See more pictures here: http://quiltsbyjoyce.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/christmas-wonder/
Nova Nouvelle
Name of Maker: Joyce Triezenberg
Nova Nouvelle - I was very impressed with Jinny Beyer's pattern that appeared in the June 2005 issue of McCall's Quilting Magazine. I wanted to pick out my own fabrics to make it. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to go on a driving trip with my sister-in-law and we visited Jinny's shop. A very helpful person in the shop patiently helped me find fabrics I really liked. I used a different border print from the original pattern, so I had to adjust the sizes of all the setting pieces, but that was really no big deal. The quilt took first prize in the 2010 Michigan Quilt Network Showcase in the large machine quilted category.
