mother and daughter
Name of Maker: jim langland
mother and daughter - Using water-soluable markers, I drew by free-hand my interpretation of a da Vinci sketch on fabric. I then long armed the quilt using an APQS Millennium and Superior Machine Quilting thread(brown) I was trying to replicate the look of very old ink which fades from black to a brownish color over many years. NOTE: As this was my first attempt at quilting I have learned many things. Most importantly is to not iron your quilt BEFORE removing the washable marker. LOL! Oh well, experience is when things do not go exactly as planned:-) I made this quilt as a gift to my wife in celebration of our fourth child's birth.(first daughter- Nellie Margaret)
Per Aspera ad Astra
Name of Maker: Nel Eyre
Per Aspera ad Astra - This is a blue-and-white medallion quilt. It took seven years to make (on and off) but was worth it in the end. It was on show in the Education Room of the Quilt Museum in York, UK for a few months in 2010, which made me prouder than I can say. There are approximately 1,480 patches and 20yds of fabric in the top. It is batted with Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom. Mettler thread for piecing; YLI HQ blue thread for quilting.
Bunny of the Month
Name of Maker: Nel Eyre
Bunny of the Month - This is a BOM pattern that started me quilting. I made it for DD, but she was too old by the time I finished it. I learned a lot through making this quilt; it followed me on trips to London, USA and Canada.
Kauai Inspiration
Name of Maker: Virginia "Jenny" Treadway
Kauai Inspiration - Kauai Inspiration began in early January while in Kapaa. It is my first Asian Wall Hanging. It features hand and machine quilting as well as Sashiko Embroidery. It is hand beaded with imported glass, crystal and semi-precious stones.
Southwest Pueblo
Name of Maker: judylyon
Southwest Pueblo - I created this quilt to showcase my Southwast Vistas whole cloth pattern. I was fascinated with Taos Pueblo. Desert plants, wildlife and rock formations evoke memories of vacations in “Arches” and “Bryce.”
Dream Garden
Name of Maker: Kathryn Celliers-Louw
Dream Garden - Guild challenge to use fabric with roses and irises. Blocks placed on point, gold lattice work Applique loose flowers on top, beaded details
Hand Dyed Dresden
Name of Maker: DonaKay
Hand Dyed Dresden - My first creation using my hand-dyed fabric. Due to the somewhat rough quality of the fabric makes the blue borders look like swede. Some fabric was less than lovely so I over-dyed it, cut and resewed it to a somewhat crazy-quilt background.
Fun at the Lake

Fun at the Lake - Center of Grandson's quilt. Digitized picture of our Grandson in our boat fishing.
