French Country - The center is broken dishes. There are ruched flowers in the center and around the appliqued vines. The border came from EQ5.

Sisters - This quilt is done in the story quilt style of Mary Lou Weidman and was started in a workshop wih her at Quilting by the Lake in 2001. It was made for my sister Gail.

Transformation - This is one of my art quilts. I hand painted the fabrics and quilted the leaves independently before attaching to the quilt. I took small seams to add texture and veining to each leaf. The birds faces are painted with inks and pens. I then quilted the pattern of the leaves in the background to give the feeling of more leaves. It is a inspiration quilt for me, it represents the strength required to break out of the limitations placed on us and become what we are truly meant to be. Its that journey of growth, whether spiritual, physical, artistically or personally that I wanted to celebrate. How come some birds can break free to become true birds while others are not willing to take a chance. I dedicated this quilt to my daughter who after being hit by a drunk driver continues to over come many of the challenges that face her while never letting them hold her captive spiritually.

Bee's, Bunnies and Bear's - I offer this pattern for sale to quilt shops and on my website at www.desireesdesigns.com. This baby quilt pattern comes with enough pieces to make either a boy's quilt or a girl's version. The pattern allows design choices that make it new and original each time you make it. I have included several bee's, either pulling or holding a banner where the new babies name or birthdate or a special poem can be added. This is a very popular and fun quilt to make.
