Praying For Peace For Johnny
Name of Maker: Katie Gomez
Praying For Peace For Johnny - I began this applique flower of one of Nancy Lee Chong's designs in a Hawaiian applique class. When my best friend Therese told me her son was in Hospice and asked me to pray for Peace for Johnny, I knew I had to finish this little quilt for her. Johnny did pass on November 16, 2013 and we all know he is at Peace now. Peace signs have been symbols Therese and I have been sharing since 1970.

Darian's Graduation Quilt
Name of Maker: Martine4425
Darian's Graduation Quilt - This quilt was made with love for our first grandchild upon high school graduation. I just chose colors she and I both love, and created it as I went along. I did use the AccuQuilt Go cutter, with a roses die and accompanying embroidery designs made to go with the resultant applique shapes.
Victorian Gone Plum Decadent
Name of Maker: Martine4425
Victorian Gone Plum Decadent - This was started in a class in Bismarck, then the blocks were put together during a sewing day with friends in Tucson, so many memories associated with this quilt. It was also less accurate than I could accept, due to all the gabbing during the assembly of the blocks. I took my mother-in-law's advice to 'NEVER BE AFRAID TO REVERSE SEW', so it was virtually reconstructed after the top was assembled. And it would have been less time and work to make a new quilt from scratch, but what a feeling of satisfaction to see it put right. I'm so glad I did.
