Wildflower Mix - I made this after a workshop with Margaret Miller in Scotland. I picked colours that reminded me of my friend's flower garden in summertime.
Bev's Quilt - This was one of those 'conspiracy' quilts; I secretly had wedding guests sign a muslin square and surprised Bev almost 1 yr later, on her birthday. Many of the signors were also at the birthday party and were just as surprised as Bev (and her hubby, Doug).
Holy is the Lamb - My 1st original quilt, made for my Pastor's wife's birthday. My previous quilts were 2 small whole cloth baby quilts. This was exciting from conception to completion. To read about the symbolism, go to daaquilts.com & go to the blog link.
Remembering Napili Kai - After vacationing in Maui, I fell in love with Hawaiian quilting. From the "snowflake" method of cutting the design, to the hand applique and hand quilting, it's satisfying work.
North Dakota Skies - This fabric was purchased on a trip to North Dakota. The mirror blocks reflect the Sun, Moon and Stars as seen in the vast skies of No. Dakota.
Color Convergence - This is my first attempt at a convergence quilt. Once you do one, they are quite addictive. This one has gold metallic paint stamped on the border. Not quilted yet but my friend and quilter, Sue Bunch, will be working on it soon.
The Life of Wine - My husband Dan chose these fabrics at a SantaFe Quilt Shop so that I would make a quilt for him to hang over a special wine rack which he built.
Byron - Susan's favorite cat is featured in another pet quilt. His fur is portrayed with couched eyelash knitting yarn. Our cat, Inky, was especially fond of that quilt.
Mighty Max - This was made of all blue sky, moon, star fabrics and sunny yellows for the birth of my grandson, Max in November of 06. This was my very first quilt.
Matthew's Gift - Made for my firstborn daughter in memory of her son, Matthew, who always gave her a daffodil for her birthday. He died on May 16, 2003 at age 14.
My Second Quilt - This is a detail showing my quilting work. This is the second quilt I have ever made, and the first on which I have done free-motion quilting.
My Second Quilt - Strip pieced quilt with blocks set on point, moving from dark to light as the quilt progressed. This is the second quilt I have ever made, and the first on which I have done free-motion quilting.
My First Quilt - This is the very first quilt I have ever made, and I am very happy with it. It is stitched-in-the-ditch with machine stitched hearts instead of tying the middle of the 3.5 inch blocks.
