African Themed
Name of Maker: Kathy Miller
African Themed - I have always been attracted to ethnic quilts. The book "Quilt Africa" had so many inspiring ideas in it. This was my first attempt to 'free motion' quilt and I now love to do it. I especially like the illusion of desert (from the beige batik) and the wind (my quilting) in the background of each image. Since I was making this for a friend, I incorporated a family of warthogs as she collects them. My favorite is the mom giraffe with her little one.
Christmas Delivery
Name of Maker: Maryellen Naughton
Christmas Delivery - 2005 was the year I made Christmas quilts as gifts for the Naughton side of the family. I had seen several quilts made up of different sized blocks, so I tried my own method of piecing, and was pleased with the result. My sister-in-law is nuts about Christmas, so she really appreciated having a "Christmas Quilt" to display during the holidays.

Southwest
Name of Maker: Devora Olson
Southwest - I found this panel in a small quilt store in Northern AZ and brought it home hoping that it would go in my husband's den. Voila! It was just the perfect color. I haven't made a panel for a long time and since I was in a hurry to get it on the wall, just outlined the panel instead of cutting it up and making a larger wall hanging. It turned out to be the perfect size for over his desk and looks great in the room (if I may say so myself).
