Country Peddles - I spent a couple of cool summer days in the mountain resort of Angel Fire, NM and decided that I needed a quilt to resemble the colors and cozy feel of that mountain serene setting.

Grandma's Roses - I saw the rose fabric, found the pattern, and the rest was quilted! It is currently on display in a great quilt/fabric shop not far from my home. It was fun to put together.

Dashing Nines - I designed this quilt to use when teaching classes. It is completely rotary cut and is fat quarter friendly. I am currently updating the pattern for publishing.

Venetian Rose - Pattern was developed by Norah McMeeking when she was inspired by Italian marble floors. This was a fun pattern to do. All paper pieced and applique.

Hunter's Trail - Black and White Snails Trail blocks. Quilted with black vairgated thread.

Blue Dyanisty - I used my own fabrics, chossing to do the background in white. It is hand appliqued and quilted

Mommy's Quilt - The wonderful ladies at a local quilt shop helped pick a book to start to teach myself how to quilt (1st and 2nd quilts were squares and a rail fence, respectively, made with not-quilt-shop fabric). They helped me pick the pattern and then the fabric. I loved the fabric so much (I'd never felt good fabric before!), it's still my favorite everyday bed quilt. I told my little one, "It's Mommy's quilt!", when he'd try to drag this monsterous full-size-plus quilt away. The previous square quilt (2004) was his and the rail fence (2004) was for my husband (until he got the sampler), so this one was just for me!

Jake's Quilt - A dear friend at work gave me a stack of fabric sqares and scraps from her stash and helped me to put my design ideas on paper. My dear husband, acknowledging my spacial and mathmatical blondness, helped me to draft the pattern. It might have helped to read up on drafting patterns, but I hadn't gotten that far yet. I wanted to jump right in to make a quick (hahahaha!) quilt for my son, as he was leaving Grandma-daycare and starting the real thing. The quilt was lost within a month and then found about a month later under who-knows-what-and-where. Needless to say, the quilt came home for good. It gets used and abused by both my son and the 2 dogs and has been the recipient of many an upset stomach (yes, both human and canine...perhaps even a feline hairball or two). My son and I love to roll him up in the quilt and unfurl him, just as Cleopatra was unfurled from the rug before Ceasar.

Romance

Sampler Quilt - This quilt provided lots of learning opportunities as I moved forward in quilting journey. I stepped beyond squares and rectangles and tried piecing triangles and diamonds (one Le Moyne star was enough for this quilt...ok, two...the first dome-shaped one went to my then-2yr-old). I decided how to quilt each block as I went along, and I can see the progress in my hand-quilting with each block. I didn't try to match the spacing between blocks (only within each block) and was pretty pleased with my stitches by the time I got to the sashing. Finally, I decided to try out my Bernina Stitch Regulator (having bought the 440-QE because of this feature) on the piano-key border, as I dreaded having to turn the quilt every few seconds using the walking foot. Using the looks-fine-from-10-feet-away-on-a-galloping-horse method of inspection, my first attempt at free-motion quilting wasn't too bad.

A Jacobean Rhapsody Quilt - From "Jacobean Rhapsodies" by Patricia Campbell & Mimi Ayars. This was my second applique project and my first time using beads.

Sweet Tea Quilt - I made this quilt for a friend for her birthday. All the fabrics are Jinny Beyer fabrics except for the light green which is in the Fossel Fern range. All of it was quilted on the domestic machine. For the leaves in the trianges I used "stitch in ditch tracing paper" which I applied the design & then stitched and torn the paper away. A closeup is in the photo.

Audrey Hepburn Story Quilt - This quilt I adapted from a pattern that was used for floral fabrics (which I have made). I decided on a black & white theme and using pictures of Audrey Hepburn, printing them on to printable fabric. There are a couple of pictures of her not as the movie star but her involment with UNICEF as well. This quilt I made for a fund raiser. It was the 3rd quilt I made.

Beaming with Pride - Took a photo of my husband tickling our son Bryan. I liked the spirit of the photo so much I thought I would try to capture it in a quilt. This is also a birthday present for my husband. He asked if it was ok to display it at the office. Bryan says "YES!".

Spinning Feathers - I took a class on trapunto and Mctavishing. This was a blast! I micro-Mctavished and used water soluble thread to trapunto. I entered the show and won a ribbon.
