Majestic
Name of Maker: Pat Kerko
Majestic - Inspired by my Willow tree. The tree is hand painted and the leaves are gold cotton lame. Machine quilting done on my home domestic machine and then hand painted with gold ink.
Mardi Gras
Name of Maker: Pat Kerko
Mardi Gras - Created for the Challenge at the Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge with the subject "Occassions". Two fabrics given, one Gradations of primary colors and the check. The Face is hand painted with various techniques used to create the rest of the quilt. Those including free motion embroidery, trapunto, machine quilting and fabric painting. She won first place for the Challenge. I had very mixed emotions because it was a purchase award. I got very attached to her given that this was the first attempt I had made at painting a face. So now she hangs in the Welcome Center for the Tourist Department in Pigeon Forge, TN.
60-40-60
Name of Maker: Marianne Gjesdal Lyngås
60-40-60 - This is a gift for my Mum and Dad on their anniversary. They have bin married in 40 years in 2008 and they both getting in their 60's this year. The quilt are not finished yet but getting there. It is to quilts that can be joint together as one. I just got some fabrics that I liked, an I just cut some strips/pieces to make roman numbers, 1-20 in red and 1-20 in green. One square for each year they have been togehter. Numbers are handapplique. It is quilted i sections and than put together (From" Lappesprell og quiltestreker by Hanne Asplin Firman). Both quilts are still in progress and finish size will be about 200x150 cm x2.
Houston Sudoku

Houston Sudoku - Quilter from Sweden came up with the idea that a sudoku could be a pattern for a quilt. I had just been to Houston and I wanted to make something to my self to remind me of my trip there. On a bus trip to old Houston I had found a set of fabric that I had fallen in love with. And in the airport in Norway I got me a book with sudoku to puzzel with on my trip to Houston. So I used all of theFabric in this sudoku quilt. I is my biggest quilt so far. The Quilt is quilted i sections and then put together with a technic describe in a norwegian book called "Lappesprell og quiltestreker" by Hanne Asplin Firman. On the border I got my daughters to draw numbers 1 to 9 in different styles and appliqued them to the quilt in three different colors.
Univers

Univers - Quilt were made as an gift to my husband. It is mainly hand quilted with lots of stars in different sizes. In the black areas it is tied with yellow tread with the knot on the front to give the impression for a sky at night.

Tim's Tiger - The cross stitch tiger was a gift for my husband. I decided to frame it with fabric and turned it into a pillow.
Sudoku Challenge
Name of Maker: Cheryl Bishop-Bailey
Sudoku Challenge - I made this in response to the Bath Quilters Sudoku Quilt Challenge. The design was inspired by the Sudoku grid in The Times. In keeping with the oriental look of the design the borders are quilted with a bamboo pattern. All of the Sudoku squares are made from recycled mens' shirt fabrics. I meant to give it to Project Linus but my husband wanted it so he gave Project Linus a donation in its place and kept the quilt for himself.
1st Round Robin

1st Round Robin - This is our guilds first Round Robin. I had a lot of fun with this RR, I'm a Longarm Quilter and don't find a lot time for piecing but with this RR I knew I had to come up with a plan and follow through with getting it done for the following month, so that let me do some piecing. I loved the challenge that each quilt gave me and the knowledge that each quilt would have a little part of me in it.

Primarily around the twist - This was a class given to our guild by Sandy Turner. I was crazy and used 6 different colors for my twist while the class used two, but I had a lot of fun with it. I designed the border so it would be different from the rest.

Lailah's Delight - I made this quilt top in 2006 for my first granddaughter-to-be, but learned two weeks prior to his birth that it was a grandSON. So, I decided to finish this quilt for my niece, Lailah, born in January 2007.
Cowgirls of the old west

Cowgirls of the old west - I had these cowgirl blocks for quite a while and decided to make a quilt center piecing the cowgils. A lot of the fabrics are western themed that I had been saving up for a while.

Autumn Buzz - This was a guild quilt challenge. We had to use a two pieces of fabric and the paper pieced maple leaf that are in all 4 corners. My mom and I designed and made the quilt together.

Dizzy Swirls

Dizzy Swirls - This is a variation on Stack - n - Whack using an equilateral triangle as a base. I drew a random curved line from the center to one side, copied the line to the other two sides. Each triangle has a light, medium and dark shape. Six triangles form a swirl at the center. It was great fun! These were all oriental fabrics. I want to do more with this technique.

Wrapt Up in the Orient - I love oriental fabric as does my daughter and Sandy's pattern was perfect to adapt plus my own 9 patch swap blocks and borders.
