Civil War Stars
Name of Maker: Shawn Priggel
Civil War Stars - I took a Lone Star class earlier this year and made the center block. The rest was up to us. I had seen a photo somewhere of a Lone Star surrounded by log cabin blocks so I decided to try that and from there I wanted more stars so I came up with the outer border. It won a People's Choice Award at a quilt show back in April - I was quite flattered! The fabrics are all from Judy Rothermel's Civil War Classics line and some from her Civil War Backgrounds. Our exchange student really liked this one so it is going home with him to France.

Simple Times
Name of Maker: Patricia Blakely
Simple Times - I love Rosemary Youngs' books, the Civil War Diary Quilt, the Civil War Love Letters Quilt and the Amish Circle Quilt. This was a fun quilt to make. I enjoyed the solid fabrics and "primitive" look.

Patriotic Exploding Star
Name of Maker: cmtackett
Patriotic Exploding Star - This quilt was truly a labor of love and focus. It required focus on one block at a time. My goal was to make one block per day. With each block requiring 49 half square triangles all made to make a total pattern it really made me more focused not to make a mistake or turn one wrong.
