Cats and Dogs - Based on a classic applique pattern Gingham Dog & Calico Cat. Made for my cousin to give as a baby gift.
Flag of England
Name of Maker: Sandy Fine
Flag of England - This is my second Flag of England quilt. I made this one for my brother's fiance's to give to her son-in-law who is from England. The first one was made for her S-I-L's sister who lives in England and is a big soccer fan. The back is the same as the front. It is quilted in a diagonal grid pattern.
State Quarter Flag
Name of Maker: Sandy Fine
State Quarter Flag - I adapted this flag from a pattern in Better Homes and Gardens, Quilting Ideas 2002. The white fabric for the stars representing the 50 states are folded to hold each of the 50 State Quarter being released from 1999 through 2008 by US Mint. I made a second one in 2005 and donated to the ORNL Alzheimer Auction.
Inspirations of Fall
Name of Maker: Sandy Fine
Inspirations of Fall - Two inch squares, either one piece or various triangles pieced to form two inch squares were used to create the leaves in this quilt. I had to follow the quilt diagram very closely to get the leaf placement correct.
Unknown
Name of Maker: Bev Getschel
Unknown - I quilted this for a customer who then entered it into the quilt show of our local fair in the professionally quilted category. It took four ribbons - 1st Place for the category, The Award of Excellence from a local quilt guild for the category, Champion (best of show for the whole quilting section), and Grand Champion (best of show of all the house hold items which included cross stitch, tapesty, embroidery, garment sewing etc.) I was told that a longarm quilter did the judging and was very particular. Then, still being in shock over this, another customer called to tell me she entered three of the quilts I quilted for her in the MN State Fair. One took a 1st and the other two placed 3rd. I don't usually go around tooting my own horn, but these customers are very particular and won't let anyone else quilt for them. The fact that they had faith in what I do and entered them like they did means a great deal to me. I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the other three. I can assure you that they were beautiful. In fact, one of them was a Ricky Tims Convergence quilt she did in a class she took. If I can get pictures, I will post them later.
Table Cloth
Name of Maker: Sandy Fine
Table Cloth - This started out as a completely different design and was only going to be a tablerunner. It has 285 - 4" squares and 142 of the 4" squares are pieced from 1-1/2" squares. It took 16 1-1/2" squares to mae a 4" square. I wish I had used a solid light fabric for the 4" squares instead of the pattered green and white fabric. This was my first fullsize 'quilt'. I even used a sheet for the backing. Yes a sheet. I have learned so much since 2002.
Melissa's Irish Chain
Name of Maker: Sandy Fine
Melissa's Irish Chain - I made this quilt for my daughter to use for a bedspread. I finished the quilt twice. The quilt was not large enough for their queen size bed so I took off one side, added two more rows to the width, reattached the borders and quilted the additional rows and rebound it. The quilt measures 82" x 104. Mom and dad helped me put the quilt in mom's quilting fram and mom helped me quilt it. Mom and dad would come to my house each afternoon after I got home from work and we would quilt for a couple of hours. She was in the early stages of Alzheimer's and I had to mark a line for her to quilt otherwise she would get confused. It was the last quilt she worked on.
Carnival
Name of Maker: Dot
Carnival - This was a class project, my first attempt at foundation paper piecing. What a patient teacher I had! I did finish this project ready to do more paper piecing.
Remembering GrandMa
Name of Maker: Dot
Remembering GrandMa - This quilt was made, front and backing, from vintage feed sacks I found at antique shows. My paternal Grandmother was a quilter and made clothing for her children and grandchildren from feed sacks. This is a memory I love.

Festival of Trees
Name of Maker: Sandi
Festival of Trees - I wanted to make a Christmas wall hanging, but, decided against sewing these together. Instead I put loops on them and hung them on greenery and put them over the window. My Mom helped with the binding on 2 of them.
Swan Song (aka 'That purple thing!)
Name of Maker: Brenda Bailey
Swan Song (aka 'That purple thing!) - A freind sent me fabric as a gift, they were Japanese in look so then I made fans! the rest just evolved. The last quilt I shall ever hand quilt - my fingers are now too painful with arthritis.
Avilon's babydoll quilt
Name of Maker: Gail Surrena
Avilon's babydoll quilt - This was made for a 4 year-old friend of my granddaughter. She especially like butterflies, thus the fabric choice. Avilon kept taking Lia's babydoll quilt, so had to have one of her own. Also in the picture is a bag-holder, inspired from the typical Alaskan Kuspuks, worn by Alaska Eskimos and Alaska Natives.
Emilie's babydoll quilt
Name of Maker: Gail Surrena
Emilie's babydoll quilt - This little quilt was originally done in purples. I made this one with orange and green blocks to give the quilt a lattice-work look. This is for a little 3 year old girl, who is a friend of my little granddaughter, Lia...can't have one little girl without a babydoll quilt.
Money Quilt
Name of Maker: Gail Surrena
Money Quilt - I found a quilt like this one on the internet. This 11 year old boy, who celebrated his birthday this past March, wanted "all of my money." So, I was inspired by the money fabric, that I bought at Joann Fabrics in Wasilla Alaska. He loved it!
