Heart of the Park - Based on an original central design by Leni Abel and 5 bridges in Central Park, NYC.

Geese in the Garden - Made for my partner's grandmother who, after a health scare, moved in with her daughter from the house where she had spent most of her life. Though it was her choice, I'm sure it had to be difficult so I wanted to make her a sort of "room warming" gift. It turned into a Christmas gift, though, as I didn't get it finished until recently! The pattern was made to go with a Maywood border print which is cut apart and used for both the outer border and sashing between the strips of geese.

Sunset Wheat - I love Iowa...and thankfully Iowa seems to like me too with the amount of teaching I do there. But Iowa is also the home of APQS...the maker of my beloved "George" sewing machine (a treasure to a small studio!) APQS asked if I would make them a quilt for display in their booth and I gladly went to work. I was also deep into watching the HBO miniseries "John Adams" at the time...there is a scene where he is walking thru his wheat fields and I immediately thought of Iowa (I know J.A. was in Mass....but its my story) and went to work.

Clearly Now - One of my favorite artists is Peter Max... Those puffy clouds and shooting suns just drew me in as a child...so happy. This is my "nod" to Peter.

Cattails in Love - Inspired by the song "Chuck E's in Love" that was playing on my iPod when I was strolling past a marsh full of swaying cattails...what can I say my mind goes to strange places.

Santa - This quilt was done for fun and a decorative touch at Christmas. It is filled with Swarovski crystals and hand quilted in gold and silver threads.

Drag Along - made 2 quilts and 2 pillows for great nieces

OU Sooner Schooner - Made this quilt for daughter to use on her bed at the University of Oklahoma. Began quilt in January 2004 and completed before the first OU Home Football game and took to daughter for her new apartment at OU in Norman. I pieced with my old singer treadle machine the half square triangles and machine pieced the other blocks with my "new" singer at the time. The OU Cornerstones are hand pieced and have very small pieces and the Sooner Schooner is hand appliqued. Size is for a twin bed.

Batik Northwinds - Sharyn Craig's Northwinds method taught to me by Verda. I made the quilt as a sample for Verda to use in a demo at Quilting on the Mountain. There are so many variations - the Northwinds block and Sharyn's method could come in handy in any number of quilts using HSTs.

Christmas Wall Quilt - I wanted to practice some different methods of making HSTs as I learned in Power Cutting 2 by Debbie Caffrey & came up with this design. Later found out it was a broken dishes block.

Nest wall hanging quilt - Fun wall hanging quilt to hang over my queen-sized bed. Fabrics include Tula Pink's "Nest" line as well as Anna Maria Horner and Joel Dewberry fabrics. My next project will be to make a quilt using Tula Pink's "Nest" quilt kit.

Seahorse - This quilt was made while taking an Upside Down Applique class at Quilt University. The beads were applied during a beading class at Quilt University, also.

Fantasia

Double Wedding Ring - Had hopes when I started for a bed sized quilt but alas, it got to this size and I called it quilts. A friend now has it hanging in her home.

Autumn Colors - I used Moda charm squares and put in sashing and corner blocks with some flying geese blocks in the border. Applique adapted from a pattern by Kim Dahl.
