Sunshine Bouquet - Sunshine Bouquet is the result of the class I took with Ann Fahl in Tucson in September, 2008. I was determined to stick with it and finish it so I wouldn't have another UFO! I learned a lot and quickly enjoyed the thread painting technique, which was the focus of the class. Techniques in this quilt are: fused raw-edged machine applique; thread painting; free-motion embroidery and free-motion quilting.
Kokopelli Plays the Blues - This is the second wall hanging I have completed using this pattern. The original
is in blues and greens. I like these colors as well
Carson's Star - I worked on this star design with my 7 year old son, Carson. I drew it and re-drew it to suit him, changing dimensions and colors. It is paper-pieced and will be one of nine stars in the finished quilt.
Miniature Pineapple - This quilt measures 12" X 12". Sixteen blocks contain a total of 720 pieces. It was pieced at a weekend retreat organized by a local quilt shop. By the end of the retreat I was "begging" my fellow quilters for their scraps to add extra variety. I'm very happy with how it turned out.
Springmill Quilt - This quilt was created using photos that I took at Springmill State Park. It is a great place to go and I freq. take my dogs and grandchildren for walks. I had taken a QU class to learn how to print on fabric and this was my project. (If you look close, you will see my grandchildren)
President's Challenge - This quilt was made for the President's challenge at our quilt. We traded 6" fabric squares and we were to create a charm quilt...no 2 fabrics alike.
Dorian's Quilt - This quilt was made for my grandson. All the fabrics selected are specific for a time in his life and backed in flannel, to keep him warm. He only wears red/black/white clothes (that is why the color choices).
King Kong? - Made for a challenge in 2006. I hated the challenge fabric and wasn't going to participate but I have this thing about King Kong and I thought how I'd always like to do this story, so...
Vikki's round the world - Strip pieced. Went together quickly. Technique taught by a friend, Jessyca Cochran, in a class at church. Quilter was Kathy Allen, Napa, CA, and she did a beautiful job quilting it. Size approximate.
Bali Wedding Star - I originally made this quilt for my daughter's wedding gift. I decided during the process to keep it for myself for my 40th wedding anniversary. It was not a fun process, but I am very happy how it turned out.
