David's Fan
Name of Maker: SandyB - Embrodiery by June Takacs
David's Fan - I adapted this quilt pattern after receiving the entire fat quarter collection from Jinny Beyer for Christmas from my husband. The piecing was finished in 2005 but I did not like the published center for the quilt. In 2008 my friend June Takas of Pleasant Valley NY offered to machine quilt the center. Once completed it was sent to Mary Metty in Ulster NY for professional quilting.

Basket of Blooms
Name of Maker: Seejayjo
Basket of Blooms - A large medallian quilt made using piecing and applique. This quilt taught me the value of measuring accurately and the consequences of piecing lots of triangles. It had to be taken apart and extra borders added to cater for the stretching that occured.
Patricia's Puzzle
Name of Maker: Seejayjo

My Calico Garden
Name of Maker: Glenda
My Calico Garden - I first saw a photo of the original Calico Garden quilt when I started appliqué work in PNG in 1994 & thought one day I want to make that quilt & I will be happy. It has taken me 15 years to get there????? Some of the blocks are original & some are mine. Boarder is my design which is not finished yet. I have used coloured 9 blocks instead of white & colour; & used black in the boarders. My blocks are 6inches instead of the original 3inchs. Cheers Glenda
Passion
Name of Maker: Glenda
Passion - I was given a beautiful silk crepe scarf with a drawing of a Japanese lady wearing a full formal Kimono; I kept it in its original wrapping for some thing special. When we moved to the tropics we had this amazing red tropical passion flower (6inches across)in our garden; it reminded me of the beautiful red scarf, End result was this quilt. Each hexagon is quilted as you go; so I made all these hexagons then put them together making 6 red flowers to resemble the passion flower & surrounded the flowers around the Japanese’s lady which is in the centre top; adding dark hexagons to define the lady & flowers. Cheers Glenda
Rainforst to the sea

Size of finished quilt was to be no smaller than 3/4 of a meter & no bigger than 1 1/2 meters.

Stars & Stepping Stones
Name of Maker: Quiltsalad
Stars & Stepping Stones - I made this quilt based on a really "ugly" piece of Kings Road Fabric that Susan Smith the owner of the Quilt Gallery in Augusta, Georgia said we would never be able to sell (I was working there at the time.) We sold 3 more bolts of it and I taught a class on how to make it several times, selling lots of Marsha's book as well. The "ugly" piece was the orange with the turqouise and blue vase pattern which makes up the setting triangles.
Tea Towel Quilt
Name of Maker: Quiltsalad
Tea Towel Quilt - My "Granny" died in 1983 and these blocks were made from tea towels that she embroidered probably in the 50's and were used till I saved them from being thrown away. I cut out the least worn parts and sashed them with 30's reproduction fabrics and gave the quilt to my oldest Grand daughter when she was born in 1999 and I had made her crib quilt and accessories out of 30's fabrics also. The quilt still hangs in her room although the other 30's things are long gone.
