Country Threads Garden Club - This was based on a block of the month class I took in order to learn how to applique better. This now hangs in my foyer and I never tire of looking at it.

Horses - This was a gift for a young teacher that I had supervised. I wanted to learn to make attic windows, so a made several and put them together with a simple border. It was my first larger piece, but it was still just a lap robe.

Friendship Posies - This quilt was done for a local challenge. 4 fat quarters were given to work with. I was able to add a 5th fat quarter, the bright green. Free hand quilting done on my new Innova long arm.

Baby Austen's Redwork Quilt - Free form hand quilting; machine stitched in the ditch. Machine pieced and border embroidery around blocks by machine also. All characters and animals hand embroidered using old redwork patterns readily available online and in books.

Luminosity Stars - I was enthralled by the colors in this pattern when I first saw it. Of course I had to make one. It was fun to get a little crazy. The hardest part was the fussy cutting.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - I took a class with Susan Cleveland. We fussy cut large prints for the insets. It was a good study in dark and light shadow contrasts. Everyone's quilts turned out entirely different.

St. Louis Stars - I was in a block exchange of a different style. Each participant picked the block and colors that the others would make for her. I requested navy, gold and beige. I found the setting in the book Sensational Settings. My friend Kathy, brought the exchange idea with her when she moved from St. Louis, hence the name. I made the center 2 blocks.

Making Beautiful Music Together - Wedding gift for niece and her hubby. They are both musicians, thus the french horn and euphonium depicted in the quilt. The converged curves are meant to suggest the movement of music, thus the title "Making Beautiful Music Together". Those words are also stitched onto the banner at the bottom. The stylized notes are from the music they used for their recessional; I only did one measure, as the first 6 measures are the same - AND I only had so much room *_*

The Yellow Quilt - My first baby quilt!! For Sara's first baby. The first quilt I've ever made for someone. Her baby room is yellow with bees. It's 40"x40". Sara's baby was due in September, but the shower was the end of July. Good thing I got it done then because she had to have the baby 4 days later!!
