WHIMSICAL SANTA - QUILT MADE WITH CHRISTMAS PANEL. FLYING GEESE BLOCKS, PINWHEEL BLOCKS AND SIMPLE 4PATCH BLOCKS. BORDER HAS PRAIRIE POINTS.

A Winter Night's Fantasy - It was a cold and dreary winter. One night, while watching the Australian Open, I experienced an intense craving for sun colors. So I went into my studio, selected fabrics and put the background together. Then I spent the next few weeks figuring out how to bring it to life. And then I put it away for a while. This summer I watched the French Open and Wimbledon and worked on beading and embroidering it and now it's finally done.

Playing with Fibonacci - This quilt is a bit of an experiment. It's black and white and I always work with colors so this is a first. I used Fibonacci squares, which I've never done before. I painted another layer of design all across the top - the spiral hearts - which I've also never done before.

It Feels Like Spring - I took a surface design class this spring in which I hand-dyed the center motif. I liked it so much I decided it just had to be made into a quilt and this is the result. When I thought the top was finished, I felt that the narrow yellow border was too strong and I needed to tone it down. I finally decided to machine embroider it with turquoise thread; much to my delight I found a built-in stitch on my machine that was very similar to the motif I had dyed. I just love serendipity!!!!

Moment of Truth - This quilt is a depiction of a car that came in 3rd in an endurance race near my home. Glowing brakes are a passion of mine and go to see them as often as I can.

Lady - I dyed silk gauzes and other silk, layered them and machined them onto a backing with a zigzag stitch. Smaller pieces done by hand. Everything is tiny pieces of silk.

Diana's Quilt - I want to make "nap" quilts for all my friends in California. I finally finished this Southwestern quilt for my friend Diana who is a Yorba descendant.

Not named - This quilt was made in Karen Cunagin's class through Palomar College in Fallbrook, CA. It was donated through the Fallbrook Quilt Guild to wounded Marines at Camp Pendleton.

Rainbows in my Dreams - I used the basic design in the magazine, but used my own colors so they would blend mor fully with my decor. I used a very light batting since we live in a warm climate. We love this quilt!

My Mother's Poppies - This was a kit I purchased. The correct amount of fabric was not in the kit, and the instructions were very loose - so I just startd doing it as I was inspired.The applique pieces for the poppy were used only once in her example, but I wanted more. I also trapuntoed my poppies as they were the most important element of the quitl.
