teddybear love pillow
Name of Maker: Michelle
teddybear love pillow - 'Twinkle Twinkle tiny light. Little eyes that shine so bright. A little one from heaven above fills our hearts with so much love.' I made this pillow to go with the teddybear jean quilt I did for my boss. Since I didn't have to do much with the quilt I decided to make this pillow to go with it. I just used cotton fabric and with the help of my mom, I had a saying embroidered on the front of the pillow. Then I machine appliqued on a teddybear with 3 stars.
Pretty in Pink
Name of Maker: Michelle
Pretty in Pink - I made this quilt a friend of mine and her husband that have recently had a baby girl. I think there are similar patterns as this one but I just kind of made this quilt as I went along. It's by far one of my favorites. I loved how the colors came together and I thought it was perfect for a baby girl! I hope she grows up to love it as much as I do!

Mylie's Book Of Animals - I made this book for my cousin Mylie who just turned 1! It's a flip book about animals and I thaught it would be a good way to incorporate a little learning without having to worry about Mylie choking on any pieces of paper if she decided to put it in her mouth.
4SQS - SUMMER
Name of Maker: Chermm
4SQS - SUMMER - This is a small 18 x18" quilt that I made for the 4 seasons quilt swap. The basic idea of the quilt had to have a summer theme around the design. since I live in Florida, I thought of Flamingos and sunshine.
Rae's Redwork
Name of Maker: Daisy Fredericks
Rae's Redwork - I used a variety of traditional blocks donated from friends and a few of my own designs for this quilt. It was made for my aunt, who lost everything in Hurricane Rita, in Creole La. The center was hand stitched by me in red perle cotton. The first two blocks in the top row, and the third one on the second row were done by me. The others were done by good friends from an online quilting email group that I have belonged to for several years.. Marcie Cutrer of Denham Springs LA, Tania from New Zealand, Annie Lewis of PA, Donna Staby of PA, and Margy Collingwood of the UK. An extra block made by Norma Daniels was made into a pillow to go along with the quilt. The machine applique block at the center of the bottom row reads "thinking of you across the miles" and it was made by Tania in NZ.
Flowers for Dee
Name of Maker: Bev
Flowers for Dee - This was my first experience doing hand applique. Also the spacing of the inner circle of flowers in relation to the outer circle was challenging. I made a few changes when hand quilting a design in the outer border. My hand appliquing is not perfectionistic, but my daughter loves the quilt.
Squirrel Quilt
Name of Maker: Patricia McCullough
Squirrel Quilt - The original pattern was an applique on one piece of fabric . I embroidered blocks and pieced them.

My Blue Heron
Name of Maker: Rena Croft
My Blue Heron - A class with Phil Beaver at "Quilting in the Tetons" October 2006. Fabric in the flower pedals & heron was hand dyed on frames -- very amazing...! A friend suggested that every blue heron need a frog to eat! That inspired the inclusion of 6 animals hidden in the machine quilting. Can you find them? The quilt was finished June 2008. Thanks Phil for sharing your talents!
Kirstie's Graduation Quilt
Name of Maker: Wanda Myers
Kirstie's Graduation Quilt - I made this quilt in April and May of 2008, for Kirstie's graduation from Gonzales High School. I made the first block as a challenge by the Heritage Quilt Guild for a raffle quilt design. The block was not chosen by the guild, but when Kirstie saw the block, she loved the bright colors. So off I went to the LQS to purchase more fabric to complete a quilt. Martha Coval, owner of my LQS, worked the quilt into her quilting schedule so that Kirstie could receive it on the night of her graduation. The quilting design is butterflies. Each block on this quilt contains 25 pieces, which made me think that I was crazy for attempting the quilt!
