Times Portal & Blue Vortex Travels - My design is based on a photograph I took and tweaked in a software program, & printed onto fabric. I used Beth Wheeler's Altered Photography method for enhancing the fabric photograph with threadpainting. I then designed the mosaic around the quilted fabric photo. In physics, a wormhole is a hypothetical feature of space-time that is essentially a "shortcut" through space and time. I have a lively imagination and enjoy to read a _lot_! I made this quilt while thinking of the possibilities of instant time and place travel. What If...... ?

Snow Daze

Snow Daze - This is the most challenging quilt I have made so far. Each snowflake consists of hundreds of tiny pieces of fabric, "fussy cut" using plastic templates, and pieced with 1/4" seams. No curved piecing or applique was involved. Snowflake patterns are Paula Nadelstern, and quilting was inspired by Diane Gaudynski. Ruth's French Braid - I used twelve different fabrics in aquas, lavenders, and blues with white as the accent color. The pairie point border used all twelve fabrics repeated. Machine pieced and quilted by myself. I used free motions quilting design of leaves in white diamonds and feathers in chevrons.
25th Anniversary QPC

25th Anniversary QPC - My quilt guild had a challenge quilt contest for our 25th anniversary. The quilt had to be at least 50 by 50 inches, use 25 different fabrics and use a check and a stripe. I wanted it to be elegant and used satin,organza, velvet, brocade, and cottons. I painted on the writing and used crystals to accent. It is black, white and grey. I used beads to make flower centers and buttons for corner stone flowers. The prairie point border is black organza with silver sprinkles.

Let Freedom Ring - This is an original design. Liberty and Freedom are the two concepts that exemplify the democracy found in our great country. The American Bald Eagle symbolizes freedom & the Liberty Bell symbolizes "Liberty and justice for all." I combined these concepts - the eagle ring the Liberty Bell.

Granny's Flower Patch - Original blocks were purchased at a flea market along with the extra fabric, stork scissors and template. I made more flowers and then set it together. It is unusual to find black in the flowers but it is there.

Ben's Geckos - I designed this quilt for my 19 year old son who loves and raises geckos. He didn't want anything too bright. The geckos were my project to learn needle turn applique and the borders were developed when I was learning a technique for making flying geese.
