Name of Maker: Heather
"love grows best..." - I died the muslin fabric in tea to make it look more antique.
Challenge Puse
Name of Maker: Denise Lareau
Challenge Puse - Guild Challenge - It's in the bag. Lots of beautiful bags and unusual. This bag was always a problem for me. 1 step forward and 2 or 3 back. It was a learning process of what not to do. By the end, I was so tired of the purse I was just happy to have it done. Then it won 2nd place in our Guild quilt show. I guess it's looking better now.
Scarecrows & Pumpkins
Name of Maker: quiltnweave
Scarecrows & Pumpkins - This quilt was made with blocks from a block swap on a quilting forum, which included blocks of my own.
Arkansas Snowball
Name of Maker: Linda McCutcheon
Arkansas Snowball - Started years ago. This is my first attempt at hand-quilting a large size quilt. Wreaths fill the snowball. Nine-patch squares were quilted 1/4" from seam. Green border has a pumpkin-seed design; dark border has feathers; red outside border is done in cross-hatch.
Tropical Currents & Critters
Name of Maker: BJquilts
Tropical Currents & Critters - Made for our guild Challenge in 2007. Rules were to use only batiks on the front of the quilt and to draw 3 crayons from a bag...those colors had to be used plus any other colors we liked to add.

Blooming Idiot Quilt
Name of Maker: Mary Kuhn
Blooming Idiot Quilt - I had a customer who used several of the fabrics in her booming 9 patch and I fell in love with it so I went on a hunt for the fabric, found some but added some of my own. This quilt is my quilt on my bed.
Vipassana
Name of Maker: Drew Field
Vipassana - The title of this quilt, Vipassana, mean "to look within". The fabric is hand dyed and the center is a digitized scan of a 15th century Tibetan mural.
Card Catalog
Name of Maker: feeddog
Card Catalog - My first job was in a library, where I developed an interest in the card catalog cards that were already out of date then. Later I worked as a book editor, so I used the bibliographic data for books I'd worked on to print catalog cards on fabric and sew them into the quilt. The woodgrain pattern on the brown blocks is hand-quilted freehand.
wild curves
Name of Maker: Pam Gimnich
wild curves - Curved peices appliqued on to polar fleece as backing.
Blooms for a Basket
Name of Maker: Bonny Smelser
Blooms for a Basket - This was the 2nd applique quilt for me and I loved the beautiful baskets & flowers. The applique is hand stitched and blocks machine pieced. Custom long arm quilted by my dear friends Victoria and Michelle - Creative Quilts, Galt, CA. This is a quilt I will treasure and eventually hand down to my children.
Hearts and Flowers
Name of Maker: Bonny Smelser
Hearts and Flowers - I designed this layout and borders and used a pattern for the heart from a pattern called Sweet Memories. This was my first applique quilt and I enjoyed so much making this quilt. It was a challenge - a new challenge, I should say, to learn to applique and it has now become one of my favorites. I hand stitched and machine pieced the quilt - long arm custom quilted by my dear friends Victoria and Michelle - Creative Quilts, Galt, CA.
