All Gave Some, Some Gave All
Name of Maker: Pam Oliver
All Gave Some, Some Gave All - This is an original design begun in a Quilters Day Out thru my quild, Cobblestone Quilters Guild in July, 2007. Our challenge was to use triangles. I wanted to use black and white. Naturally a little red is called for. In determining how much red to use, I decided to use 9 red triangles as my tribute to our fallen 9 firefighters of June 18, 2007 Sofa Superstore fire. I quilted it with Zebra Rainbow thread from Superior (love that thread!). I used the Perfect Spiral from Thimbleworks to draw my 5 intercepting spirals. I used Ricky's piped binding that I do my way.
Harlequin Hearts
Name of Maker: Pam Oliver
Harlequin Hearts - I made the first one for my mother-in-law. The 4 hearts are from the cut out of the back of her piece. I don't use muslin now but I did then. I put the pieces together and got the border fabrics on a trip to MaryJos in Gastonia, NC. I disliked the plain hearts so I added the ribbon swirls. It is quilted with metallic threads for sparkle.

My Mariner's Compass
Name of Maker: Nanette Chopin-Cook
My Mariner's Compass - This was one of my first quilts to enter into a show and using paper piecing. The stars are needleturn appliqued and the rings are reversed applique. To obtain the perfection in my points, I hand traced all the compass patterns using deli-paper. The deli-paper is so much easier to remove than printer paper.

Batik Hearts
Name of Maker: Nanette Chopin Cook
Batik Hearts - This quilt was made with 27 batik fat quarters. This is the first quilt that I made where I really stepped out of my box with colors. It took me about 3 hours to select the fabrics. I took a class in Fredericksburg, Texas. I made this quilt before I purchased my long arm quilter, so I decided to handquilt it, only later to find out that most quilters DO NOT hand quilt batiks.
