Mushrooms and Elephant Ears
Name of Maker: Barbara Zuazua
Mushrooms and Elephant Ears - This quilt was inspired by a japanese quilter's technique of shredding fabrics, arranging them as if painting, and then trapping it in place with tule and free motion quilting (I saw this on Simply Quilts- Spring 2006). She used a long arm, I used a home machine. I was testing different fabrics, yarns, beads, paint, applique, and turned lames into confetti.

My Starry Night
Name of Maker: Kayla RIch
My Starry Night - I did not glue but would sew individual pieces of this qult together on the background. i used scaps of fabric no longer or wider than a brush stoke. As pieces of fabric puddled at my feet I smiled to think about how Vincent would paint so thick it would puddle on the floor off the canvas. The edges are raw and unraveling like unto Vincents mental state as he painted this famous scene.
