The I-Don't-Want-to-Cut-Those-Hand-Dyes Quilt - Years ago, I took a hand dyeing class and wound up with over a dozen fat quarters of beautiful fabric. For a long time, I couldn't bear to cut up these gorgeous pieces. Then it occurred to me that I could cut tiny bits off and make a small quilt.

Folk Art Log Cabin - My first foray into applique'. I did heavy quilting around the applique' pieces. This was done at a week long retreat while we were living in Okinawa, Japan. I chose bright colors as they appealed to me more than the traditional homespun in the orginal pattern.

Beware My Little Darlings - This is a story quilt inspired by the poem "The Spider and the Fly", a cautionary childrens tale written by Mary Howitt in 1821. I discovered the illustraed story by Tony DiTerlizzi by accident and was completely drawn in by the eerie illustrations and the dark tale. I wanted to do my own illustration in the form of a quilt.

Poppin' Poppies! - I was commissioned by my friend, Jan, to make this pattern for her. She loved the poppy fabric. The other colors complement an area rug in her foyer. The machine appliqued poppies embellishment really made this quilt pop! It is densely free-motion quilted.

Class Act - I took a class by Mary Ellen Hopkins and learned this pattern. It is quilted in gold metallic thread which really makes it an elegant quilt. The colors were chosen for my son.

Vicky's Heirloom - This was my first attempt at Seminole Patchwork, which I used in the borders. It was also the first large quilt that I hand quilted. My daughter cherishes it.

Sisters - This was my first experience using plastic templates. The quilt was easy to make. The colors were chosen by my younger sister for her lake home. I used Christmas fabric on the back so that it would be reversible.

Blue Bonnet for Bobby - This was my first attempt at strip piecing and was a class taught at Outdoor Resorts in Port Isabel, Texas, by guild members from the Rio Grand Guild of Harlingen, Texas. My brother was born in Texas and since the Blue Bonnet is the State flower I made this for his wedding gift.
3 D Challenge

3 D Challenge - I began this quilt several years, but stopped to care for my Mother until she passed away. I just completed the top but have yet to quilt it. I plan to quilt it on my domestic long arm but am waiting until I gain more confidence. This quilt will live on the bed in my guest room and my kids can fight over it after I am gone. HEE HEE All the fabrics were hand dyed and came in a kit prepared by Sandy Barker of Dallas.
