Clown 'n Around
Name of Maker: PinePatcher
Clown 'n Around - Made for the 2005 Arizona Quilters Guild Fall Meeting Challenge. Theme: Under the Big Top. When I saw the blue background fabric, the ovals looked like faces so I put that fabric in the background to look like 'the audience'. The tent is made from light weight canvas creatively folded and stitched down to look like a tent complete with ties on the front flaps. The balloon is cut from a mylar balloon. The clowns are fused down and the eyes and small pompom noses are glued in place. The flag pole on the top of tent is a toohpick, the flag is fussy cut fabric.

Name of Maker: Karla
Sacramento Kings Quilt - I made this quilt for a silent auction to benefit the school where I was the principal. It brought in $2000, and I was thrilled and surprised. (Our Kings were doing better that year.) A parent at the school made charcoal sketches of the major players and I scanned tham and printed them on fabric to make the white blocks in the inner border. A person with "connections" saw the quilt and got the players to autograph it. This was a major undertaking, but very rewarding.
