Cyberhugs for Lisa
Name of Maker: Lisa's CyberSuccess Team
Cyberhugs for Lisa - At the turn of the millennium, I was one of eight web editors and a web publisher, living in five American states and a Canadian province, who worked on a New York-based website called CraftShop.com. When the website disappeared in mid-2000, part of the bursting dot-bubble, we simply restyled ourselves as an international CyberSuccess Team and carried on. We e-mailed one another several times a day to discuss possibilities, overcome challenges, identify opportunities, and enjoy our friendship. Then in 2002 one of our members, Lisa Cahoon, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I sent five-inch squares of a white-on-white fabric to the other members of the team with a request that each use her CraftShop.com specialty to embellish her square. When they came back, I added photo-transferred squares and pieced them together in an original design representing our special network. Lisa was thrilled with the quilt. Sadly, she died only a couple of months after we gave it to her. Today it's one of my most prized possessions.

Butterflies Aren't Free and Gave Me a Headace
Name of Maker: Kris Thomson
Butterflies Aren't Free and Gave Me a Headace - This design was on the cover of Designs in Machine Embroidery and I immediately fell in love with it and had to make it. I subscribed to the magazine, bought the Amazing Design floppy and proceeded.........It was truly a challenge to flip and accurately match the designs. I learned to un-embroider, a challenge in itself, and do free standing designs. I'm very proud of the results and consider it one of my best.

Family Tree
Name of Maker: Kris and Patrick Thomson
Family Tree - I collected pictures of my parents, my sister and me. My husband photo transfered them to fabric and I pieced them in the attic window to show our family history. I intended to give it to my mom for Christmas when all the family members would be gathered, but she passed away on the 17th of December. She never did get to see it, but I know she would have loved it. Unfortunately, it is a very bitter sweet quilt for me, but will be a family heirloom.
Tea for Two
Name of Maker: Kris thomson
Tea for Two - I saw this quilt pictured in the Quilter's Keepsake catalogue and fell in love with it. I love the combination of soft yellow and blue and this was it. I ordered the kit immediately and made the wall hanging. I have it in my bedroom and have used it to put all my quilt pins for display. It was great fun to make and free motion quilt. I have gotten several positive comments on it, and as I said, I really love it.
